#freshleafoftheday! Got this medusa's head cactus as a rescue just over a year ago. She came with a mealy bug 𤢠the exact same colour as her downy stalks so I didn't see it at first and she lost two stalks before I removed it. The mealy bug was so gross! (I fed it to one of my carnivorous plants š) I'm so very thrilled to see she's making a comeback and just had to share. #newgrowth #newgrowthday #cactus #cactusclique #weirdplants #astrophytumcaputmedusae #medusasheadcactus #greggang #plantfriendsarethebestfriends #ballondusoleil

Plant of the day - Astrophytum caput-medusae Hi everyone, for todayās plant of the day, I wanted to showcase a unique and rare plant that deserves more attention. It has beautiful tubercles that protrude from the almost non-existent body, and it has a large, fat taproot. These adaptation have allowed it to survive the harsh environments in parts of Nuevo León Mexico. Although, it is highly adapated to life there; it is facing threats to its population through poaching and livestock trampling. I would love for everyone to share more information on this plant, or even share with us youāre own plant if the day! I will try to post one of these everyday, so please join the plant of the day hashtag if interested #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #HappyPlants #plantoftheday

Please say that white fuzz is not some kind of infestation! It was a little fuzzy and I sprayed it with insecticide. So now it looks calcified.
