About Hoya sipitangensis
With over 500 species and even more cultivars, there's a Hoya out there for everyone! They're native to Southeast Asia and their common name, waxplant, refers to their thick, waxy leaves which help them retain water in the heat. They're excellent climbers and will take off if you give them a trellis to grow on. Their other-worldly, star-shaped flowers are often fragrant and come in brilliant shades of red, pink, yellow, and more!

Finding light for Hoya sipitangensis in your home

a window
Hoya sipitangensis may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Hoya sipitangensis in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Hoya sipitangensis

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Hoya sipitangensis after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

I managed to get a couple more hrs sleep last night, so hoping i get a little more done at work today. I may already have condemned myself to a day of work this weekend. But not sure that actually helps me get more done. Best thing may be as much rest as i can make myself get this weekend and start fresh monday🤷♂️. I had a few root bound plants ready for repotting incase i was up at 1 am again😂. But since i wasnt, ill be doing those after work today. What are my planty friends doing this weekend? Hopefully staying cool🥶 and getting some well deserved relaxation. We had a thread full of great photos yesterday🤩! I dont know about yours, but mine was just a big headache lol! Im ready to relax with my LABBY DOG🥰 and PLANTS🌴 and forget about this week. I sure hope you all are having a GREAT week though. We have a small chance of rain this evening. I think ill pull my cacti back to be safe this afternoon, they dont need another unexpected drowning😂 Its been sounding like alot of you are in some heatwaves out there! Seen alot of comments about ANOTHER hot one! Make sure your all staying well hydrated, along with your plants! They love shade almost as much as we do when its over 100! Call for help immedietly if your feeling sick, dizzy, or light headed🙏. Ok enough of that, lets move on to the THURSDAY line up of excellent photos! For our first picture, 💐&☕️ = a little piece of heaven @Hoyaobsessed home where her amazing hubby treated her to this mug bouquet for her morning brew🥰. For our 2nd plant we were blessed to get this post from @RefinedSandwort yesterday of her cute little snake plant🐍growing like its still SPRING in its cozy window👍. That brings us to number 3 in our line up. This is a stunning pothos N-joy obviously living the good life 😍 @SweetAzurebluet PERFECT plant retreat! Did someone say PLANTMAIL!! Well @Preciousplants1 did when she received this amazing HOYA🤩 in her mailbox! I know i sure wouldve! Course everyone knows im a sucker for a great hoya! And for our last photo we have a baby magnolia tree bloom at @HisLobster nature estate. She says it has just started getting blooms but they are getting a little crispy edges from to much sun. They plan to install shading of some kind to resolve that issue and give this beautiful tree its perfect home 🤗. That brings us to the end of the photos for the day😤 but i bet you still have some hot coffee left to power you on! Calling myself out for my lazy planty habits! 😅 These two were looking miserable (I underwatered them and probably have flat mites) so I chucked them in the prop tub, I always throw all my cuttings in together and I didn’t think they’d make it so I didn’t think much about separating them. Now I can’t really tell the difference and I’ve just potted them anyway, I’ll figure it out as they grow new leaves I guess! They’re hoya soligamiana and nicholsoniae (maybe mixed together 😂) Does anyone else have any lazy/bad planty habits? #PropagationStation #Hoya

Hoya ID I'm still not sure if this is a pubicalyx or a carnosa. What do you all think? #hoya #hoyahangout #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantid

Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread Its a breezy warm Sunday morning in Kansasland, but still nice enough to have my morning coffee outside🤗. I managed to get all 3 different potting medias mixed up yesterday🙌. I did a chunky, cacti, and reg well draining mix. I dont like to do it very often so i do ALOT!! When i do it. This will be a years worth of the reg and chunky and 5 years worth if cacti lol. These are just base mixes that i may use as is or add other things to fine tune it to the exact plant. Im@not sure my plan today. I may do some potting, but im leaning towards trellis making for hoyas. Ive potted alot of stuff the last few weeks and ready for a plant to do list change up🤷♂️. Plus i can sit on my butt and make trellises lol. Im@making my job easy today on #TheThread .... or actually @SunSoilLove is making my job easy today 🙌 with her MASSIVE PLANT HAUL🚛 from the expo she attended yesterday! Ive decided to headline her awesome line up of plants she found at the event. Photo1 waymanie cloudy sky #2 lacunosa amarillo #3 lacunose tricolor bruno #4 parviflora splash #5 multiflora Myself i love em all! But that waymanie is DREAMY😍🤤🤩. Thats a must have! I keep saying NO MORE!😂 but damn!!! Its so SEXY! 💃🏻 lol .. but REALLY! Excellent taste in hoyas lady👍 i like your style! More great photos to come in the comments, so be sure to check em out! Have a great day and STAY SAFE🥰 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #Hoya #HoyaHangout #GregPlantShop #GregGang #monstera #AlocasiaAddicts #SucculentSquad #CactusClique

Good morning☕️🌞 to #TheThread No really its MONDAY😤😭😭 and im not ready for it yet. Sure seams like when i have time to sleep i dont! And when i dont have time, all i wanna do is sleep longer🤷♂️. But im up and the day has started so i guess its ☕️☕️☕️ and more ☕️😂! Hopefully that will shake this brain FOG. It was a busy productive weekend for me, didca bunch of potting trellis work and mixing up new batches of potting medias. I did end up going to that pop up plant sale and found 3 new hoyas a tetrasperma and a freebie micans start🙌. How was your weekend? Hopefully more relaxing than mine! The sunday thread always seams to be a busy one full of great photos from your fellow threaders. After giving it a little shake and swirl these are the 5 that floated to the top! For our first 2 photos we have a beautiful@mountain scene being enjoyed by @RealSimpleMama family on their EPIC vacation to colorado😍. They saw some wonderous and magical sights and scenery while enjoying that precious family time🥰🙏 Pic 3 was shared by @SwiftWolfsbane of her gorgeous rhipsalis hanging in her plant oasis. I love the way the thin long segment gracefully cascade over the sides of the pot😍. For our 4 th photo we have one happy orchid @Prentyce home. Its gotta love swinging away all day in that smiling little planter 🙌. Its leaves look like some crazy up do haircut lol! And for our last stunning photo, we have a kroniana eskimo living the good life @Hoyaobsessed jungle wonderland🤩. She said after giving it a little more water and light its going to take over her house 😱! Jk jk but it a beautiful plant! Thats it for me today, hope everyone has a great monday! And STAY SAFE🥰 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #OrchidLovers #Hoya #Monstera
