#PestControl Good morning all!! Just gotta say, I’m FREEKING OUT!! Yesterday I thought I MAY have seen mealy bugs on my cat Palm. I sometimes overreact due to a stressful episode of thrips I had in the past but idk. I saw several white little dots on my Palm yesterday, they’re usually perlite or something inconsequential but one of them had a little stickiness to it. Once again, I have a 3 yr old grandson and 71 yr old hubby who seem to spill everything so again, no real evidence but it turned of grow light and drenched her w/Neem oil. I would’ve used q-tips & alcohol but like I said, FREEKED out!! Another concern is I keep my plants touching one another to support transpiration and since all have been healthy, not worried til now. I did just get a white Jasmine but I kept her in game room to quarantine her, she came from VERY reputable Nursery in CT and her spot is nowhere near cat Palm. None of the plants that r close to either plants mentioned have any evidence of any pests so because as a rule the mealy bugs that invade “usually” can’t fly I hope I’m over-reacting. Also, my cat Palm is over a year old so I know she’s not the culprit and all my plants r strictly indoor plants. Anyone have any further suggestions or VALIUM perhaps?? (jk about the Valium). Upon checking her this morning, I’m not seeing anything suspicious and she looks as healthy as always. Btw, these white spots weren’t even hiding; I found none on underside of fronds, none where they meet, or in a “hiding” places we normally would find them. Also, all I saw were specks and couldn’t identify anything that looked “buggy” (other than me, of course). Any further thoughts on what I should do going forward or anything really?? I was planning on repotting party, but she’s in 2 gal container and repotting her takes strategy & right now I have none; other than tossing her off cliff w/ me following but I’ll hold off on that one. Please, anyone, HELP!!!! And my husband cannot know or he will call exterminator and plants sent to orphanages!!! Thanks for ur kindness, help & esp not calling men in white coats!!!🥺🫶🏼🪴😎🍀

If we've ever interacted, you probably know I live in the Chihuahuan desert. Thus, I get to encounter a lot of cactuses in the wild (and will occasionally mark their locations for later). The cholla were there when I inherited the house. The golden barrel cactus was doing Poorly inside so I put him out for the summer sun and monsoon season. The Christmas cholla was a surprise as I was headed down my driveway, the fruit caught my attention and I totally stole a bunch of pups 😅 The rainbow cactus have been in my peripheral for months and I finally found time to nab them. Hooray cactus patch, that is all 🥰 Terrible lighting is terrible. My Christmas cactus has been looking withered recently. I took her out of the window to repot tonight and she fell out of the pot without her roots. I don’t water her super often but when I do I drown her. This method has worked for several years but I suppose it’s led to root rot🥲 is there any saving her from this barely root bearing nub?? I do intend to pinch off some cuttings but I’d like to save all of her if I can. She’s a few years old now. Don’t go by my Greg last watering I always forget to update !! The things sons do for moms 🙄 she apparently likes to kill plants so I can necromance them lol. She gave me this lemon tree. I cut all the dead off, which was everything, fed it some good food, and only watered through the terracotta spike. I think it's been about 2 weeks and she's coming back well. All the green is new. I thought that branch was dead till I cut into it. Idk what kind of dwarf lemon tree it is, but the lemons grow to the size of softballs 🤷 #beforeandafter #newgrowth #planttherapy #plantgraveyard

After dealing with insane amounts of gnats due to my new plants… I can confidently say THEY ARE DONE WITH! It’s been about 4 weeks of intense treatments & caring. The first two weeks I watered my plants with a 1 to 4 ratio of hydrogen peroxide (3%) to water. And the last two weeks I watered my plants with mosquito bits. I kept sticky traps on all my plants to monitor the gnats & the new ones I replaced after the first two weeks have no gnats :) I also kept a blue light on at night and the one I used during the first two weeks was CAKED with gnats. And the one I replaced it with has like 5 on there. I also let my plants dry out completely between the last use of hydrogen peroxide and the first use of mosquito bits.
