So the problem of the day is dormancy. The plants in the greenhouse are about to face Houston’s scorching summer. I’ve set up fans and shade for those that will be going dormant and allowing my winter dormant plants to enjoy the sunshine without drying up. When I water I need to know who’s who. So to save having to write on labels I decided to use a color scheme with yellow for summer dormant and light blue for winter. Oh and they asked me if I wanted to add something to my order. I ventured out this morning to inspect the plants before the sun becomes too intense and bright. I’m back inside now, but not before capturing a few photos. The greenhouse is incredibly humid this morning! The acclimating outdoor plants are looking remarkably better. Ive never had luck with calatheas or in geberal with plants that need higher humidity but somehow, wver since i got this one few weeks ago it sprouted and keeps sprouting new leaves + its been flowering like crazy….its really loving the place i feel! We recently moved one Monstera to a place with less light. Despite the move, he's putting off like 3 new leaves ya'll! Two biggies and a small. How exciting! We'll move our other one outside for the summer once we start getting company. The guest room is the jungle room during winter months. 🪴 It really liked the outside world last year, so I'm hoping for the same result this year. It was a nub of mushy trash last year. Mother nature took over and made him the beautiful beast it is today. I'd really love to get my hands on an Albo, but I guess my Thai Constellations can satisfy that need, for now... hehehe. #monstera #monsteramob #happyplants #newgrowth

I did some work in the yard today. Planted zinnia seeds, Amaryllis and hyacinth bulbs. Also planted a lilac bush, sweet pea plant, Mandevilla, gardenia as well as the marigolds in my little courtyard. I mixed in some sun flower seeds in the middle of the marigolds!! I’m so happy! My undulata is actually looking pretty good; this is one of my first ever Hoyas. I’ve heard these ones can be a little more tricky? Hello my loves 🫶🌿 Happy Tuesday #TheWateringHole , or should I say, happy #untidytuesday 😏 (It’s ALWAYS #untidytuesday at my house, ha ha ha! 😂😄…🥺😭😭 ) It’s been hot here, the last few days (80° F 🥵) and we are all looking forward to rain 🌧️ ☔️ tomorrow and in the 60°’s again, ahhh 🧘‍♀️. Plus that means I might not have to water anything outside 🤞🤞 I’ve been putzing around, doing planty chores, and checking on all my props from @IdPlantThat 🥰 Practically EVERYONE has been doing great 🙌 My new favorite method of propagating!: Perlite + a ziplock bag + my own hot air 🌬️ I live in a cool, wet climate, as most of you know already, and I had horrible luck with sphag. It always molds 🦠 instantly, or at least, within 12 hours 😵‍💫 I love this perlite + bag method because it is not inducive to mold growth, roots grown in perlite are more like soil roots already, and each bag is its own humidity box AND quarantine station! busy Busy BUSY!! I have not been on here for a while, I work late and have chores later. Specially plant chores. I just spent over an hour repotting. I told myself I’d be done at 8. It’s past 9. I also have SO many new plants. I haven’t added them all because most are cutting and I don’t know if they’ll survive. Here’s a quick list: 4 monstera deliciousas Neon adansonii 3 Neon pothos Lemon lime philodendron Alocasia Gangeana 2 Pothos Albo Heartleaf Philodendron Various tiny succulents Various succulent leaves String of hearts var. and normal String of turtles Syngonium Albo …I think that’s it besides my three rescue red peacock calatheas I plan on selling eventually. WAIT I FORGOT ONE! *ahem* Random Hoya …I think that’s all now.
