Hey Plantophyles! I’m back. Or I should say, I’m afoot. As my ankle is healing well, I can almost walk and I’m back home. I tried to keep up with the planty-gossip but I was knocked out with pain meds half the time and busy with PT and navigating the nursing facilities I was in the rest. That’s a long story in itself. My daughter did the best she could keeping my babies alive, but we lost about 20 or so from mostly not watering enough. I taught her the “kiss the stick” method of checking the dampness of the soil, but I think she over did on the caution I said to err on the dry side rather than overwatering. Anyhoo it is what it is. I’ve managed to plump up the wrinkled ones and dispose of the dead ones and now I’m looking forward to more shipments of new plants and reordered ones. @DreamMachine they’re ok. My oldest one has doggy dementia doesn’t know us very well is blind toothless and can’t stop circling around when he walks. Maggie my chihuahua got to visit me in the nursing home and was very excited about that, but she’s glad I’m home now.

@debbiedo yes she did! She’s been so lovingly indispensable in helping me navigate the complexity of hospital, nursing facilities, insurance and Medicare. Plus she’s taken care of me and my needs (even learning how to diaper me) . And when I got home the house was immaculate! Now she and her husband Justin are here cooking me dinner. He’s just come down from NY to do some things Kate can’t do. And that’s a true pleasure because I haven’t seen him in person in years. Such a nice guy and excellent chef! The house smells heavenly with the cooking.
@BEsucculent so good you’re back, sorry about your ankle. No worries I have trouble keeping up as well, because of my immune system and other health issues. So glad you’re back. “ what is kiss the stick” I’m new at a lot of plant lango and different plants too. I’ve tried a few but lost almost everything back in February when I had thrips. I’m rebuilding as well.
