Hello my loves! 🥰🌿 It’s #untidytuesday at the #TheWateringHole and holy moly I’m just realizing I don’t think I’ve posted in over a week! 😱 Not intentional, it was rather a hard last couple weeks. Busy/Easter madness/emotional roller coaster. 🎢 Now I just want to take a nap 😴 But I also have 41 plants 🪴 to check in on first 😮‍💨 The other night I sleep-bought a new fertilizer. Okay I *was* vaguely aware of what I was doing but I thought I just put it in my cart…nope! It arrived next day LOL! Anyhoo, if you’re in the market for a good organic fertilizer that literally smells like chicken poo 💩 , boy have I got you covered! But it helped me realize that even though my usual superthrive foliage pro is a vibrant green color—it DOESN’T smell like poo 💩 🙌 That is a HUGE plus to me I never realized, and wow, I totally took that for granted! Here’s some things going on in my neck of the woods. My beautiful begonia maculara flowering, again! Mushroom kit growing. the fertilizer. And some of my little seedlings! I was out working on some of my berries again when I stumbled upon this perlite that also contains silica. While some people may not be fond of silica, I personally prefer it and find it more beneficial than other options. In fact, I highly recommend it over nitrogen, which can be more detrimental to your plants than silica. Went out collecting ball moss for my air plant collection. We used to have the long trailing Spanish moss in Houston but air pollution and heat islands have banished it to only a few spots mostly out of town. #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #TheWateringHole

The obsession has begun. I found these wood pieces and rusted iron objects in the backyard and had to put them together in sculptures for more air plants. It’s FriYay 😁🎉👏 at #TheWateringHole 🌻🪴👩‍🌾!! Come on in! Share what’s happening with you & your oasis?? 🌱🪻🪴🏝️ 😮‍💨 29 plants here 🏡 need a little look 👀 see today🫣 - 19 left over from Wednesday so must get caught up. But I’ve been distracted with Day Lilies 🌱🌱🎉. Introducing my newbies! Got inspired here by someone who has fields of tulips 🌷 🌷 🌷 🌷 and other bulbs… can’t remember who it is 🤷‍♀️ … maybe @Ponytailmom or @Idplantthat … plus @DreamMachine Nadia, I’m pretty sure we’ve talked about day lilies too 👍🙌. Got tempted by these barerooted bebes 👶 when purchasing a new orchid grow light from rePotme. I know I didn’t do it it *by the book*📕 but sometimes I have to just throw myself into something! Caution to the wind 💨 lol. This is how I’m rolling! I don’t want to watch a kabillion videos I’m just goin’ in hot! 🤪😜😹🫠 Many succulents were in this garden. I kept the flap jacks, portulacaria elephant bush and some of the aeonium. What was underneath was very sandy and compacted so I amended with planting mix, stuck them in the ground, gave them a big drink & said goodnight 🌙😴. This morning they’re already perkier!! So are you the type that has to go by the book & research before starting 📕 🔬 or do you just have to wing it 🪽 and do what the moment feels like/hope you made a good decision type?? I was so excited to be able to get out of the house today, and on the way home from the doctor, my mum stopped at a local nursery. She got some gorgeous little show stoppers! Then she just happened to magically find herself at checkout with a plant I’d be wanting for… forever! 🤔 Myers Asparagus Fern… ferns and I are just barely starting to like each other, they’ve been my sadly misunderstood plants that I sorely have attempted to understand… I’m sure they all have a few thorny - ferny fiddle head love hardships.. 🙃 (I know, me and side rants..) okay, it was so weird. We really had no idea who put the fern up there. I was in a separate part of the plants when I heard my mom laughing, saying, “It’s not hers and she didn’t know where it came from, but maybe I do?” I said no, but I want one! So my mom was an angel and just said…”it made itself into the cart. How could I say no? It was coming home with me whether or not we knew it.”… “so NOW stop cooing over the plants! I’ve been busy lately potting my newbees and trying to get control over the perlite in my soil mix by top dressing my larger pots with this lava rock mix. But then my starter collection of air plants came! Oh what fun. Found some wood pieces in the garage that they fit in well and E6000’d them in place. Now I’ll soak the whole thing in a bucket of rainwater for a few minutes and begin the daily spritzing. #succulents #SucculentSquad #TheWateringHole

To my surprise my mini Monstera has roots growing out of the hole in the bottom of her pot. When you change to a bigger pot, Do you trim the roots down or do you leave them the way they are?? I’ve just never had to do this before so I wanna make sure I do it correctly. Thank you so much in advance. #TheWateringHole
