rehab thai con

to preface, i’m not a rehabber! i received this plant for free- the previous owner was a plant lady who no longer had the capacity to care for her collection. she gave me this thai con that was in pretty bad shape (many yellowing leaves, brown spots) and thought it was a root issue. i repotted it , cut off the dying leaves, and removed it from the moss pole. i don’t do moss poles, too risky for pests. it was doing ok for a week or two- i missed watering it for a few days and now we have 2 new dead leaves. should i just stay on top of watering or chop and prop?
@SuperbRaspfern Shannon, what do you think here? I can’t tell if it’s an issue bigger than just recovery time.
