How to fertilize Orange Lipstick Plant

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Orange Lipstick Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Shedding leaves on upper part of vine? Any idea what’s going on here? Will Phil bounce back? #LipstickPlant

Flowers in Winter ❄✨ I just came home from school for the weekend and found my lipstick vine producing beautiful flowers! After yesterday's cold spell, this was such a wonderful surprise. I thought I would share with y'all too! ☺ #goodnews #flowers #growth

I love the pot I decided to get for my black pagoda lipstick plant; I feel like it brings out the vain stripping. I may want to get a solid black decal for it but I like the look of the pot without it. I have a love hate relationship with the nursery I got it at since the last time I was there they had white flies everywhere but they usually have the most unique plants. They also had some pretty big Thai constellations in some 4 inch pots for $65.99; I was thinking about buying one there since they're alot bigger than mine and because I want one explicitly for chopping and proping for other people. I don't plan on charging just trading. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #lipstickplant #blackpagodalipstickplant #newpots

I'm so proud of this guy because even though he was exposed to freezing temperatures (which made me cut back a lot of him) Johnny THM is coming back with a vengeance😈! #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #lipstickplant

Koro sensei is possibly putting out a new vine. I'm impressed but it will take him a few months to properly acclimate to my home but I'm happy with the progress. #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #blackpagodalipstickplant #plantaddict #newgrowth

Good morning friends. I just potted this lipstick plant after rooting in water yesterday. After potting I gave him a little drink. As it’s newly potted, how often should I water it? The app is telling me not to water it again until next week but as it is newly potted, do I go by that?

Does anyone have an idea what this plant is? My boyfriend got me a “pet friendly” plant subscription because my cats like to eat anything they can get their mouths on and the box doesn’t come with identification for the plants. This app has gotten all of them right so far but it’s having a hard time woth my most recent one. The closest its gotten so far is a Dogtooh Lily but I’m still not entirely sure it’s correct.

What exactly is she?? I've had this plant for a long while now..I'm not even positive where I got it... maybe a clipping? Anyway I was updating my plants pics and realized she is simply listed as a lipstick plant... but I have no clue what type! Anyone have any idea what this pretty girl is? She has grown leaps and bounds since I got her, I would love to know what she is exactly! Hopefully these pics help.. I tried Google lens but it wasn't very helpful. #nycgreggang #plantaddict #plantlover #plantsmakepeoplehappy 💚🌱

First bloom incoming!!! My black pagoda lipstick plant has had this for a couple weeks now. And I’ve been watching it. My plant has been suchhhhh a slow grower and hasn’t done much in the last 6 months. (Tips appreciated) Today I decided to look up what blooms look like on this plant and low and behold it’s the very start of a bloom. The bloom will grow and come out of this!! I’m just excited. A few questions: What type of light is best for this? What type of soil is best for this? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #NewGrowth #BlackPagodaLipstickPlant #julesplants

Somebody or somehow the flower fell off of my lipstick plant. I’m a little upset, but not too much because the plant currently has about 15 more buds growing in! It’s beautiful! #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #PlantLove #BlackPagodaLipstickPlant #julesplants

🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.

💨 Humidity
Orange Lipstick Plant doesn’t require additional humidity. Plants absorb most water through their root system rather than their leaves, so the best way to provide humidity for your plants is through watering the soil.
🪴 Soil
Orange Lipstick Plant does best in well-draining soil. A good soil will contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir as well as perlite or vermiculite to help with drainage. Adding a handful of perlite to regular store-bought potting soil should do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Orange Lipstick Plant should be repotted after it doubles in size or once a year, whichever comes first. Fresh potting soil has all the nutrients your plant needs, so as long as it’s refreshed yearly, you shouldn’t need to use fertilizer. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
🌎 Native Region
Orange Lipstick Plant is native to Tropical Asia.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
