About Philodendron Brasil
Philodendrons grow aerial roots that grip the bark of trees, allowing them to grow over 20 feet tall! Their heart-shaped leaves change shape as they climb and can grow larger than a dinner plate. Fossils show Philodendrons growing as far back as 30 million years ago when South America was still connected to Antarctica! ❄️

How to fertilize Philodendron Brasil

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Philodendron Brasil after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Hey y’all! I’ve had this plant for 4 years & it’s done well in this spot. I’m recently seeing some yellow leaves that easily break off when tugged. I just repotted to a bigger cement pot with drainage. Could I be overwatering? #Philodendron

Rescuing my Brasil Bought her from Home Depot in the late summer. After settling in I repotted her following being overwatered and root bound. She suffered from significant shock and rot so I chopped and propped over winter. 4 months later this is what is left! Prop took foreverrrr but I’m excited to bring her back to life. She’s on the opposite side of our bedroom that has west facing floor to ceiling windows. #Philodendron #PhilodendronBrasil #HappyPlants #PlantTherapy #PropagationStation

What other plant parents say

Love my philodendron Brasil. It’s a super easy plant that tells you when it wants to be watered - and it survives drought pretty well in my experience. It’s so much fun to see what each new leaf looks like since the variegation is always a little different!

I wish it grew a little quicker, but I also have it hanging in a bathroom, so it doesn’t get a ton of light. I love the green and yellow leaves, it adds dimension to the plant. It’s pretty hardy and communicates when it needs water. Great for a first time plant parent.
