Chandelier Plant
About Chandelier Plant
Plants in the Kalanchoe genus are native to Madagascar and tropical Africa. They range from rubbery green leaves, to leopard print, and some are even fuzzy! The word Kalanchoe comes from the Cantonese name for these plants, pronounced Ka-lun-koh-ee in English. Their succulent leaves help store water during droughts, so they'll be just fine if you skip a watering or two (it happens!).

How to fertilize Chandelier Plant

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Chandelier Plant after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Some updates on my biggest succulent pot, it’s still thriving despite temp. Changes so I’m super proud of these guys & gals! 🤭🌱 However I’m really nervous because I know I will have to bring it in sooner or later, & lighting is gonna be an issue (making sure they receive enough). But I will show them off for now since they are exceeding my expectations! Should I change care now that it’s blooming? I got this little #Kalanchoe from the grocery store since the pot it came in was cute and only $2. (Picture is the day I bought it) It has little buds now and I moved it from a South East Window to under a grow light (it’s in a bigger pot now than the store one). I’ve noticed the tips of the buds are not as green as before and are more tan/brown. Should I move it back to the window? Water it more? (I can post a better picture of the buds in their current state later today, wanted to post the question before I forgot about it 😂)

So my first time using the app and I’m new to gardening. I have followed the instructions provided with this app to the letter. Had this plant about six weeks. And noticed today that the leaves are curling. Any advice? #Kalanchoe

Why is Zeus droopy? 🫤 Zeus wasn’t getting as much sun as he probably needed (I’m guessing that’s why he turned green on top) so I moved him directly in front of a south facing window so he can catch some rays with his bff “Suge” but he is looking pretty droopy and hasn’t perked up 😫 Any advice will be greatly appreciated! #Kalanchoe #Flapjacks #help #NewPlantMom #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove

more updates 😊🌱✨ 1. Taro my mystery Echeveria, I think it’s a morning Dew Echeveria but I’m not 100% sure so if anyone has a different opinion please comment below! He is super healthy, and got repotted recently into gritty mix. 2. My baby calico hearts, I separated her from my bigger calico hearts. I’m so glad I was able to get two plants out of it. They really are one of my favorite plants, and I’m so happy they both are doing so well. 🌱💕 3. Silver teaspoons 🥄 has new growth, & has been treated recently with arber. 4. Pachyphytum moon silver, every time I look at these guys, I think about the state they were in when I bought them at the store, they were bone dry, shriveled and needed lots of love. 🌱 They have made such a comeback & have grown so much! 5. My string of pearls 🌱🫛🧵 she still is putting off new growth, & doing well. I try to rotate her as much as possible so she can grow evenly. I was able to get a lot off watering done today, lately I have beenn having to water twice as much if nott more, after repotting some of these plants in gritty mix. It’s a lot to adjust too, since I’m not used to having to water as much, but I will get adjusted to the new routine. ⏰😬 #NewGrowth #SucculentSquad #SucculentLove #Succulents #Echeveria #CalicoHearts #Kalanchoe #Pachyphytum #StringOfPearls #PestControl #ArberBioFungicide #ArberBioInsecticide #HappyPlants

☀️ Sunlight Needs
Chandelier Plant requires abundant, bright and direct light. Place it less than one foot from a window to ensure it receives enough light to survive 💪. Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement in your home 🏡.
🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.
If you or someone else ingested this plant, call Poison Control at US (800) 222-1222. If a pet consumed this plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA at US (888) 426-4435.
💨 Humidity
Chandelier Plant prefers dry environments. Providing extra humidity or misting your plant allows water to linger on leaves, which can create the perfect environment for harmful types of fungi.
🪴 Soil
Chandelier Plant is very sensitive to wet soil, so choose a potting soil that drains very well and doesn’t retain too much moisture. A good soil will have lots of perlite or vermiculite for drainage and some organic matter for nutrition. A few handfuls of perlite added to regular store-bought cactus soil will do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Chandelier Plant should be repotted after it doubles in size or once a year, whichever comes first. Fresh potting soil has all the nutrients your plant needs, so as long as it’s refreshed yearly, you shouldn’t need to use fertilizer. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
❄️ Dormancy
It’s common for Chandelier Plant to go dormant in the summertime and you may notice their growth slow down. Waterings should be spaced out more during this time.
🌎 Native Region
Chandelier Plant is native to Madagascar and Tropical Africa.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
