So i’m not gonna lie, i had to figure this guy out. i knew you have to have well draining soul, but with that, you also have to have a well draining pot. i had it in a plastic pot earlier and it was getting way too much moisture because of the lack of effective drainage. i moved this little guy to a glass-like jar with a good drainage system and that was still too much. must make sure you don’t leave any standing water at all. but other than that, this is a perfect little plant. i love my basil 🥰

It's a Philodendron! What more can I say? It puts up with the people in my house and in my life. It's easy to share. It has beautiful leaves! And it can either climb or trail; you can't go wrong! It's perfect with a moss pole and it's perfect for a hanging basket or sitting on a shelf.
If you don't have a Philodendron Brazil, go get one. If you can't afford one, contact me – I'll send you some clippings.

I love this plant so much !!! I got him as a pretty full basket, and he has absolutely taken off with growth!! He currently lives in a Steven Universe painted Terra Cotta pot and i think he’s quite happy there. He has so many new growth points and his vines are definitely spilling over the pot !! One side is definitely a lot longer than the other side so i have to correct that, but otherwise Rio is thriving and looks stunning.

My personal favorite philodendron variety, the coloration is gorgeous and varies from leaf to leaf in breathtaking ways. They will be alright in medium light, but watch them explode in bright indirect light. They, just like other vining philodendrons, are neglect-able and will prefer a dry out between watering, I would recommend adding perlite or some other aerating media to most commercial potting mixes for them. I tend to water mine only once their leaves are starting to slightly wrinkle/lose their firmness if they’re in a plastic pot.
They like being in a smaller pot or a little root bound. Give them a nice long flush of water every so often to prevent mineral build up, most stunted growth will be from this or overwatering. If you want bigger leaves train them up a trellis, but they make wonderful hanging baskets and don’t seem to bald at the soil level like others. Prop via cuttings just like a pothos/other philodendrons.

This is my #1 FAVORITE plant. Mine is growing unimaginably quickly—under 2 months after buying it, it had shot up at least half a dozen new leaves and was constantly making more, had almost foot-long vines, and had 4 new baby vines coming in!! This thing is crazy. The trick is I’ve had it inches from a bright indirect window. Now that I moved it 6 feet away from the window, it’s slowed down.
This thing hasn’t slowed down for fungus gnats, dropping leaves, underwatering... this thing’s awesome. It grows faster than the pothos.
