About Philodendron Birkin
Philodendrons grow aerial roots that grip the bark of trees, allowing them to grow over 20 feet tall! Their heart-shaped leaves change shape as they climb and can grow larger than a dinner plate. Fossils show Philodendrons growing as far back as 30 million years ago when South America was still connected to Antarctica! ❄️

Finding light for Philodendron Birkin in your home
a window
Philodendron Birkin may have difficulty thriving, and will drop leaves 🍃, without ample sunlight.
Place it less than 3 feet from a south-facing window to maximize the potential for growth.
Select your region to see how the current weather in your area affects the placement of Philodendron Birkin in your home 🏡.
How to fertilize Philodendron Birkin
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Philodendron Birkin after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

My Phildendron Birkin (Duke Silver) is loving life in my office right now. I’ve had him 15 months. Tons of new growth with great variegation. There’s a woody stick in the middle, about four inches long. What is this? There’s also nubs (last picture) that look like they are going to be more sticks. Are they roots? Should I do anything? Thank you! #Philodendron #PhilodendronBirkin

What is wrong with my Birkin? I JUST got it from Walmart a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like it was doing well. Now it appears like half of it is and half of it isnt?

Forrest is growing to tall, I want to propragate it, but not sure how! #Philodendron My plant is getting kind of tall and losing some of its balance, greg says that I can propagate using its stem, but I am not sure where exatcly to make the proper cut! Please see some images below! Any advice is welcomed, I think my plant is long overdue for a trim! I’ve marked locations where I think it’s safe to cut for propagation in the image below

Philo newbie, what is he trying to tell me? I got this guy (among others) from a client when it was 3 depressed looking leaves at the start of August. He loves the kitchen window and has exploded. Are all these aerial roots signs he needs a bigger pot, just a Thing they do, or something else? TIA! #philodendron #philoflock #plantsmakepeoplehappy #planthelp #newgrowth #rootporn

Philo ID I ended up with this gorgeous lad because I keep house for old people and they love to give me things they don't want/can't care for. It was 3 sad leaves at the start of September and here we are today. This is the first variegated leaf and I'm not sure what variety it is. Greg and Google are pretty sure it's a Birkin, I just wanted to confirm with humans 😜
