Time to cut?

Is it finally time to hack off my bromeliad's bloom? ๐Ÿฅบ or am I way past the time lol. I've been avoiding it because I'm a noob with broms and I was also sad about losing the bloom ๐Ÿ˜… any advice and/or tips appreciated! #bromeliad

To remove a spent bloom, use a sharp, sterilized blade and cut the bloom stalk. Make a clean cut as close to the remaining plant as possible without harming it. Once you've removed the bloom, you can toss it in the trash or compost. Don't neglect your bromeliad just because it finished blooming.
Yeh, I'd say it's time to say good-bye. I waited a long time to remove my brom's bloom. By the time I was ready to say good-bye, I just kinda twisted it out. I don't recommend it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Be sure to keep a look out for pups at the base!!
Thanks all! I certainly will continue to care for it, I want to see that beautiful bloom return someday! @sarahsalith I still don't know if I can see any pups yet, Sarah! I keep looking but so far I don't think I see anything ๐Ÿ˜” I'll keep looking though!
@UnbiasedTree they usually push through when the mother plant starts to die. My mother plant lasted almost two years after I cut off the flower and pushed out six pups. (:
Wow, that's a slow-burning plant lol. Okay cool! Appreciate the timeline so I can have an idea of when to look out for things!
