Removed my bromeliad's bloom
Welp, it's done π₯² finally removed her bloom. Here's to waiting for however many years it takes to bloom again π₯
Unfortunately, bromeliads die after blooming. Now that the flower is removed it should produce pups to live on in her name. One of my cryptanthus (part of bromeliad family) gave me two rounds of pups after blooming. Sheβs kicking the hay now and dying from the center outward. This process may take up to a year to complete. Once the pups are popped off mom, sheβll die faster. Pups also have a better chance the longer they stay attached to mom; let them get about 1/3 size. They pop off mom easy with a gentle tug.
