Yellow orchid leaves

Hi guys! This is my first orchid so I’m still figuring out how to care for it. I went on holiday and forgot to move it out the window and we’ve had a lot of heat! It’s leaves are yellow and it’s flowers all died (the yellowing is worse than the photo shows!). It seems fine and it’s had a good drink. Will it survive? Is there anything I can do about the yellow leaves? I thought I read somewhere that when the flowers die to cut the stem all the way to the base, is this true? Does it need a chop? Thank you πŸ’šπŸŒΏ #OrchidLovers #Orchid #OrchidProblems #planthealth

It might slowly recover, orchids take a lot of patience so just keep it out of any direct light and stay consistent with the water, I don’t think the leaves will heal from being overexposed but they will slowly die as new leaves are born
Orchids are finicky but resilient at the same time, they put on a delicate front but can bounce back under the right conditions
I had this happen to mine as well, I'm interested to see what a good answer is!
@addictivepothos yeah hopefully we can keep them alive!
@MollyMoon that’s good to know, thank you. I will wait patiently 😊🀞🏻
Yellow will never turn green again, but keep up with water 1x a week and current leaves will sustain the plant until new leaves form. If you want new leaves sooner, cut off blossom stem at first node to promote energy to leaves.
@Plantgirl56 thank you 😊
