Hello my loves! 🥰🌿 It’s #untidytuesday at the #TheWateringHole and holy moly I’m just realizing I don’t think I’ve posted in over a week! 😱 Not intentional, it was rather a hard last couple weeks. Busy/Easter madness/emotional roller coaster. 🎢 Now I just want to take a nap 😴 But I also have 41 plants 🪴 to check in on first 😮‍💨 The other night I sleep-bought a new fertilizer. Okay I *was* vaguely aware of what I was doing but I thought I just put it in my cart…nope! It arrived next day LOL! Anyhoo, if you’re in the market for a good organic fertilizer that literally smells like chicken poo 💩 , boy have I got you covered! But it helped me realize that even though my usual superthrive foliage pro is a vibrant green color—it DOESN’T smell like poo 💩 🙌 That is a HUGE plus to me I never realized, and wow, I totally took that for granted! Here’s some things going on in my neck of the woods. My beautiful begonia maculara flowering, again! Mushroom kit growing. the fertilizer. And some of my little seedlings! Mini Mark ‘Holm’ Sharing for anyone else who, like me, has wanted this orchid for a long time… the blooms on these are everything I dreamed — they are adorable and I cannot stop looking at them. The fragrance reminds me of freesia and lilac, it’s light but also kind of intoxicating and it oscillates throughout the day (seems strongest in morning and afternoon). They definitely need high humidity around their roots and do not like to dry out, I had them temporarily potted in slotted pots while quarantining and after a few weeks their leaves started showing signs of being thirsty despite receiving water any time the roots turned white. They seem happy under grow lights so far, given that they have bloomed and continued to bloom as well as started producing fragrance. They were part of a larger order from Bredren Orchids… and honestly the orchids I received from them were all in incredible shape (healthy, zero bad roots, all mature plants in spike, reasonable prices). The only thing to note is that some of the other plants (not the mini marks) had signs of snail damage (hollows on spikes where some baby buds had clearly been eaten) and I did find an empty white bush snail shell in one plant’s medium during repot, so recommend repotting immediately/carefully as well as isolating the plants for a time (which is good practice in general). (The tissue paper on top of the plants is a short-term measure to protect the medium bc I made the bad decision to order from RarePlantFairy thinking their ridiculous tissue culture upcharge would ensure a clean plant, and it came with a severe infestation of fungus gnats that escaped bathroom jail and I am working to eradicate 😖) #PhalaenopsisOrchid #Orchid #OrchidLovers #Phalaenopsis #PhalaenopsisMiniMark #BloomingOrchid

Happy Friday 🤍🌿 at #TheWateringHole my loves! AND HAPPY SPRING EQUINOX!!!! ☀️✨🌷🌺🌻🪺🌿🪻Ostara is the day when day and night are equal (depending on where you are in the world 🤓) The end of winter is NIGH. Mason bees are flying where I am!! 🐝 Just a quick one to get us started, as I got called into work today 🧇🍳🥓💁‍♀️ Gotta serve the bacon to bring home the bacon! (Or Beyond vegan sausage 😁) …. (Or parsley 😜) Does anyone have any big plans to welcome in Spring today? My family and I have hodge-podge rituals. The Ceremonial Cleaning of the Things 🧹 🧺. Setting out my Ukrainian писанки (psyanky-elaborate Ukrainian painted eggs). The Standing Outside with Bare Feet 🦶 on the ground. And honestly, just things I make up as I go. 😁 Tell me all about everything please. Even if it’s still snowy on the ground but it’s spring in your heart ❤️ Any plants waking up? Happy Tuesday plant friends 🤍🌿 at #TheWateringHole . I’m an early bird today 🐦 How was your weekend? I worked, and after shuffling the kiddo off to school this morning I am so excited to be able to get back into my indoor garden 🥰🌿 We’d been in the 30°s and 40°s (-1°C to 4°C) still, but yesterday we were completely gobsmacked by a 65°F/18°C degree day 🤯😱. I don’t know how you do it, my friends in the places already in the 80’s(26°C, I’m trying to learn Celsius) or above, I was SWEATING yesterday 🥵 🥵 I had to put on short-sleeve pants @princesspitstop !! 🤯 I got a bunch of seeds started last week, and I have a lot of sprouts already! And look at this! I started a second seedling heat mat warming up, and almost instantly a big furry catnip sprouted up! 🐈‍⬛😸 I also started tomatoes 🍅 , cabbage, lettuce 🥬 , basil, onions 🧅 , chives, parsley 🌿, loveage, and then quite a few other herbs and flowers. 🌺🌷🌻🌼 Does anyone else eat parsley like I do? Freaking *Love* parsley. I chop up a bunch or two, drizzle with olive oil, squeeze a lemon, and a pinch of sea salt. I’m a parsley maniac! 😋🤤 Now show me your plants 🙏🏼 🌿 Anyone waking up from winter?
