This jewel Alocasia is struggling. It keeps dropping and leaves are dying. I switched to distilled water and that helped a little. Not enough humidity ? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Put it in a mix of perlite with fluval stratum.  They love it.  Mine have never loved soil.

I second what  @KDkat3 said. Would also check the root system. A lot of times they do this because the root system isn’t strong enough to support all the leaves. I have all my Alocasia in either stratum or pon. They love it!
