The wster change MIGHT help a little, but your big issue is probably dealing with a lack of humidity.

This plant NEEDS humidity to stay nice and non-crunchy. If you don't have a humidifier, you can get innovative.

You can make an pebble tray for your plant. You'll need a shallow dish that extends past your pot to the outer leaves of your plant. Fill the shallow dish with water and place some pebbles in the bottom so your pot isn't sitting directly in the water (but if your pot has no drainage, it doesn't matter). Then allow the water to evaporate around your plant continually.

You can also find a humidity dome or possible a glass bowl or vessel large enough to house your plant. If it has high sides or a top, it'll help keep the humidity in like a terrarium.

If you pot has no drainage, that helps the soil to stay moist, BUT it can also cause the soil to start rotting, so be careful.

If you pot has a drainage hole, having it on a pebble tray will also help keep the plant watered. (: ïŋž
