Anyone with experience growing ferns by wavy glass block ...

@sweetsucculent ferns love humidity. Just make sure they donβt get direct sunlight cause that will cause their leaves to burn.
@KikiGoldblatt thanks. Iβm unsure how to judge the light that comes through. Sometimes itβs bright, but itβs never sunny.

The answer is Yes and No β stay with me here and I will explain. First of all, thereβs a popular saying βyou canβt get a sunburn through a glassβ, youβve heard the saying or might have even said it yourself right? Well, the truth is you might not get a sunburn, but itβs a far cry from reality to assume youβre safe from the effects of UV rays once youβre behind a glass or window.
Glass does block UV light, but not entirely. A regular window blocks UVB light very well, but UVA manages to go through it. And that would mean your skin might get affected in the long run.
To me it seems it will get direct sunlight. So keep an eye on them cause you may have to move them.

Oh- and my shower is east facing (with a touch of south light). It gets enough light for them to thrive and because they are facing away from the light, I think they do better. You could also mount your ferns on cedar or natural cork to give them a bit more shade. I have two ferns mounted and it helps keep the west light off the οΏΌ foliage.
You could also do a kokedama moss ball for your ferns- that would look good.

@KikiGoldblatt Many thanks. I will watch for signs that they are getting too much light.
@sarahsalith your air plants are an inspiration. I started out small (literally) and seem to be doing okay so I recently ordered some medium sized plants. I may copy your idea and hang some on the glass block. Thanks for all your suggestions!
