Dying leaves in humid conditions?

Need some #help for my #LeatherLeafFern. We moved her into this little terrarium with daily misting to help her crispy leaves as I know they like humid conditions. Despite this her leaves are still turning crispy and dry, but new growth is also coming through. Anything else I can do to help?
2ft to light, indirect
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 10 months ago
Hi Poppy! It says you last watered this 19 days ago- if that’s true then that’s a problem. Ferns like consistently moist soil. Water when the top inch of soil is dry (stick your finger down the soil). Mist twice a week. I’m fairly certain you’re not watering it enough, as every 8-9 days is recommended. I have a fern but mine is outdoors because they get huge. Terrariums have special β€œneeds”, but your plant is in a pot. Be careful of that condensation- make sure you’re opening the terrarium to let air circulate so bacteria and fungus can’t grow. No direct sun. You may also want to repot it to a terracotta or unglazed clay pot with drainage- they allows the soil and roots to breathe. Also you can put the pot in a few inches of water to bottom water (let it sit for 30-45 minutes, then allow to drain). I hope this helps 😊
Hi, thanks for the tips! Yep I don’t keep my watering schedule up to date on here, but I’ve been following the water schedule as you suggest. And yes absolutely, she gets a daily breather for the air circulation. It may be the direct sun that’s the issue, I’ll try her in a shadier spot. Thanks!
@YouAreFading what kind of light is it getting? My ferns get crispy when there’s too much light.
@TheOddAsity hi April! Thanks for the tip. Yes, I realised the spot she’s in gets a lot more direct sunlight than I originally thought, so I’ve moved her to a shadier spot. Fingers crossed it helps! 🀞🏻
