Holes being bitten in? Bugs?

Hi there! Does anyone know what bug could possibly be causing this, and how to make it go away? Some remedies?

Once it's eaten, the holes won't go away. It maybe been eaten by a snail or a caterpillar. Try to find them and remove them.

Is it indoors or out? It's a bit hard to see in this picture, is that leaf laying on the soil? Sometimes leaves left in contact with moisture (the wall of a terrarium, potting medium, etc) will wilt/rot/die.
