Physical trauma or fungal infection ?

This black spot appeared yesterday and has been spreading. The the whole cactus is also getting lighter in color towards the center

@NoeeAtNoon I might be wrong but this is what I think. Black spots on cactus plants are most commonly caused by chemical damage from fertilizers or soil additives that contain metals such as manganese, zinc, and iron. These chemicals burn through a plant's skin tissue causing black spot lesions.
I have never fertilized it though. Could it be the result of lack of sunlight, or me handling it too much ?
@NoeeAtNoon I would try fertilizing it and see what happens. It may be in lack of nutrients. @RJG what do you think?
@NoeeAtNoon it could be due to this as well. Iโ€™m not a cactus person Iโ€™m relying on Google. Cacti turn black due to fungal diseases, including bacterial necrosis, crown rot, and phyllosticta pad spotting. To save your indoor plant at this point, you should remove the affected areas and try to prevent the spread of infection to the rest of your cactus as well as other nearby houseplants.
@NoeeAtNoon here is a link to look at. https://www.indoorplantsforbeginners.com/why-your-cactus-is-turning-black-what-you-can-do/
@Gordo whatโ€™s your thoughts?
It isnt soft at all, normally firm all over.
I saw a video that said that cereus cacti can get black spots and stains from physical trauma... Could me handling it and pressing on it have caused that as well ? I only want to cut it if im sure...
Yeah im a bit stressed when it comes to my plants so i could tatally have touched it too much or something, what worries me is the spreading
I havent been able to find a photo that looked similar on the internet, all i see is round shiny splotches, not discoloration
Hi so i came home and the black part had spread further, so i started cutting it but the flesh is actually white and nice, only the skin is black. What does that mean ?
