Celebrating my ficus triangularis growth!
A huge shout out to my #ficustriangularisvariegata on this #freshleaffriday!
Photos of when I received it (thank you, @sarah10orio), then when I brought it in for winter, and now!
Just a reminder that cutting plants back and giving them time pays off! I have lost track of all the growth points it has now. 12, maybe? If you look close in the photo you can see the bottom two leaves, then the four growth points above.
Watching her all winter will be amazing!

@PlantMompy Yay!!! I LOVE a good #BeforeAndAfter and a good comeback story!!! ππΎπͺπΎππΎπ It looks so good and healthy!!!
How is mine doing you ask? ππ¬π«£ Not good Ashley. Not good. I cut Charli back like Sarah suggested. But the remaining branches continued to get weak and brittle. So much so that eventually it broke off down to the soil π₯Ίπ³ But before that happened there was some unexpected green new growth happening (picture 3) Since then, the new growth has been slowly growing but I just think it needed more light than I gave it. Especially since the season was changing. So *sigh* while Miss Charli is still showing signs of lifeβ¦Iβm not fully convinced that sheβll pull through π₯Ί

@PlantMompy @sarahsalith Of course Iβd love any pointers and help that you guys can give.
@MrsSmith I've come back to your comments a few times because I wanted to be sure. I think the growth in your pot may be a hitchhiker and not Charliβ€οΈ π¬
I will say that once I brought mine inside it's been sitting right under a grow light. My first one was a prop and ended up dying despite being in a bright, southwest-facing window all spring and summer.

@PlantMompy You know what?!! I was wondering if what was growing was the same thing as Charli. Because it looks totally different π¬ Now Iβm not sure what to do π Let it grow and have Charli 2.0 or just let it go. Decisions, decisionsβ¦..π€
Thanks for confirming something that was on the outskirts of my mind.

And how could that have happened? @PlantMompy The hitchhiking I mean.
@MrsSmith plants π€·π½ I had one in a plant I repotted and I just assumed something got into the bag of soil because I kept it outside. It actually looked similar to your hit hitchhiker. I let it grow until winter and then removed it so it wasn't taking anything from my plant, even though the plant seemed fine.
Likely just a seed or something floated into the soil.

@PlantMompy Ahhhh I see. So I guess Charli is gone with the wind ππͺ¦ππ₯Ί Welpβ¦If I ever get another one, Iβll be sure to purchase it in person since now I know that itβs a temperamental one.
