While going through boxes in the basement, he came upon the remains of an enormous potted split leaf he'd had for the last decade or so. It had been in the moving truck with the rest of our houseplants when we got caught in a surprise blizzard on our way to our new home, and had been written off as a lost cause. We hadn't even looked at this plant in four months, let alone water it. Improbable is an understatement.
