Don’t mind my yellow leaves but this might be a stupid question… why is my amaryllis sprouting from the side like this? Could it be another bloom? Or is it sprouting a baby? I know the bulb isn’t properly covered btw, I bought it from a store while it was in bloom and didn’t want to repot until the flowers died to prevent further stress. #Amaryllis #help #HappyPlants

My new babies arrived today! The four I’ve been waiting for months to arrive; finally arrived! Yay! Then my Hoya surprise plants came today! The seller is amazing and I’m blown away by the amazing packaging and quality she put into this! I’m in love! 🥰 So excited, this is the kind of pee your pants excited! I’ve spent the whole day yesterday trying to determine which of my plants can’t survive the 100 degree temperatures we have in the summer. I’ve moved these inside the house so I can regulate them better. I hope you can help me verify my choices and add any genera that should be included in case I have them. So here goes: Sempervivum Lithops. Burro’s tail sedum. Haworthia, thin leafed Echeveria Crassula ovata Greenovia Hoya Pachyphytum. Pleiopsis. Hello my loves! 🥰🌿 It’s a wet drizzly 🌧️☔️💦🌲🌲🌲Wednesday here in the PNW, and I had roughly 1 billion pounds of library books to return today. But luckily my library is only a three minute walk, I had my trusty wagon, (complete with a VERY classy 💅🏼 clear trash bag to protect my books 📚 ), and I just adore walking through the mini two-acre nature preserve that sits right next to the library. 🌲🌲🪾🌲🪵🌿 I have a book recommendation for those that have gotten interested in botany. I ended up buying the book because I love it so much. Botany in a Day, by Thomas J. Elpel Instead of learning plants one at a time, this book helps you recognize and learn the PATTERNS of the FAMILIES of the plants. 🪴 Once you have the families down, you could potentially recognize a plant in the wild, and know something about it, even if you don’t know its name! There’s also many pages of quick guides, to things like flower terms 🌻 leaf shapes 🍃and plant family keys 📖. I can’t recommend it enough! Plus one more pic of my new geogenanthus poeppigii because I love him so much 🥰🥰🥰 How are you all doing today? Good Tuesday afternoon to all at #TheWateringHole 🪴 ☀️!! We had a bright sunny morning ☀️ Clouds ☁️ are now rolling in which makes for a calmer, quieter afternoon along the coast 😌. Went to a horse show last week 😁 🐴 in Burbank. Home now to 💦 and catch up!! Here’s what’s happening: Hoya tricolor wayetii in full flower peduncle mode!! There are 2 flowers out and at least a dozen pedunkadunks 🌸! For the orchid set up I added a second grow light, one on bottom now too. You know, it’s all about the orchids🤪😜😆. Not done arranging and rearranging yet, that’ll take a few days for me to stop fussing 🤫🫠🫥. Next up a new leaf on the Congo Red 😘❤️ love him. And for #untidyTuesday my Blue Star fern that’s been stuck between neutral and reverse for months!! Threw a personal grow light on her to see if that’s what’s ailing her?? Not sure if it’s springtime or the light but there’s growth 🙌 What’s been happening in your world 🌎 🪴 lately. My Philodendron Ring of Fire is unfurling a new leaf!! I can't wait! The variegation and leaf shape are both so cool. This will be my first new leaf on this guy, as he is a new addition from a local greenhouse.
