Leaves are turning yellow

#QueenPalm
This can be from a number of reasons. Often times this has to do with nutrients deficiency or overwatering but I always like to check for pests first. . I read something about being related to iron deficiency!
@elisenavidad I just removed a bunch of white powdery residue possibly from mealybugs from a healthier looking palm next to it. Thanks. I fertilize it frequently with fertilizer from a tropical nursery.
I wonder what this wax like residue coming out of this area? I saw it other places on the same tree as well.
@sarah10orio do you know anything about this? I’ve been looking all over Google and even tried image searching & don’t find anything quite the same!
@DevotedChards I’m quite new to outdoor plants but I am curious as well and will keep researching! This is definately frustrating, I’m sure!
@elisenavidad I am not sure, what’s happening to this tree. I have another tree that had a similar split at the bottom when it was younger but already a bigger tree. I noticed the split and the waxy residue early on. I removed as much as I could and the tree survived grew to be a beautiful specimen queen palm. This queen palm is located the opposite corner of my backyard.
You can see the split somehow is closing up.
This particular location doesn’t agree with queen palms. Originally we planted two queens in the two corners of our house 4 years ago. We replaced 3 times with a queen palm in a 24” wood container. Pretty big to start with they all died in about a year. Last year I planted three smaller one. 1 died in the fall. Two was doing ok until recently. All the trees that died have their leaves turned this yellow color suddenly, then they declined within a few months. They did not have the split and waxy residue though.
So I’ve been seeing online about this happening months after experiencing cold frost or sun scald.. I’m wondering if they’re getting to chilly in the winter?
