I just had to repot Drusilla, my #ficusburgundy because her roots were poking out through the drainage hole in her pot! She’s grown so much since I got her in February πŸ€—πŸͺ΄πŸ₯³ 1st pic is her new digs, 2nd is her original 6” pot. #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #RepotSeason #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantTherapy #FicusGang #Ficus #FicusFam #babevila

She’s so pretty @BabeVila! And your pot choice is *chefs kiss*😍
Niiice. Def looks like it’s enjoying the new pot. And good choice on not going too big on the repotting. Looks very healthy.
@AmusingRedhill Aww thank you! I’ve been saving this pot for something that goes perfectly with it and I think it’s a good combo! πŸ€—πŸ’–
@AgaveSon thanks! Yeah, I learned my lesson about potting too big when I was a plant newbie haha. I accidentally killed so many plants in my first few months 😭 Never again! Lol
Yours looks so good !

I lost so many leaves on my because of not finding the right light. Is there anything I can do to encourage leaves filling in ? Or should I let it be. We are 2 years now in this pot and I haven't dared to mess with it because of all the leaf loss at the beginning
How big is too big?I’m about to repot my peace lily and have a pot I want to use. Now I’m worried if it’s too big.
@iTRY hi! Looks like the pot might be too big, which may have caused the leaf loss. I recommend taking it out and checking the roots. If any are mushy, trim them back to the healthy part and spray peroxide on them. Then, repot in a pot that is only 1-2” bigger than the root ball. I guarantee if you do that, and give it lots of bright indirect light, you will get tons of leaves! Let me know if you have any questions, I’m always happy to help! πŸ’š
@KnightlyKatsura it’s best to use a pot that is only 1-2” larger than the root ball of the plant. Especially with peace lilies, they like to be a little snug. 😊
@PlantJedi aww I’m so sorry it got sick! Do you know what the ailment was? Your new one is lovely too!
@PlantJedi oh no, I’m so sorry!! I’m glad you were able to replace it, but it definitely sucks losing a plant!
@PlantJedi Well that’s fantastic! Lol I love rubber plants, too! Especially my Ficus Ruby 😍 I love the happy ending to your story
@PlantJedi Awesome!! My brother and his wife live there, and I’m thinking about moving there next year 🀭 I would need to rent a truck just for my plants 🀣
@PlantJedi btw you have some of the most BEAUTIFUL plants! I’m jealous!
@PlantJedi I’m so intimidated by calatheas. I admire anyone who can grow them successfully! I started with a stromanthe as they’re related, and she is doing great, but I’m still scared to take that plunge. My fiance and I live with my mom right now (it’s so expensive in the Hudson Valley these days 😭) so if I ever get my own place again, I definitely want to try one!
@PlantJedi It is beautiful. I love the mountains and the rural landscapes. It’s changed a lot since Covid, a lot of people have moved from the city up here which has skyrocketed the rents, hence me living with mom lol but I can’t blame people for wanting to live here. It’s really lovely and for nature lovers there’s a lot to do. I definitely recommend visiting for a weekend with your fiancΓ©e. Rhinebeck is a very popular town for visitors, but you can’t go wrong with most of the towns up here.
@PlantJedi I’ll definitely show you guys around! And no snow sports in Rhinebeck, but Paul Rudd owns a candy store there! And there are tons of cute little shops and good restaurants. They mention the town in the movie 27 Dresses, too πŸ˜‚
