About Burgundy Rubber Tree
Ficus elastica, more commonly known as the rubber tree, has a white, milky latex that is a source of natural rubber. Theyâve also been shown to have excellent antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The aerial roots of the rubber tree have been used to create incredible living bridges in India. The bridges get stronger over time as the roots slowly fuse together, and some are over a hundred years old! đ

Whatâs up with this leaf? #Ficus Hi folks, I am a newbie so need some advice: What could be the reason of the leaf having such cuts? Is there any hope for this leaf? Thanks a lot.

I just had to repot Drusilla, my #ficusburgundy because her roots were poking out through the drainage hole in her pot! Sheâs grown so much since I got her in February đ€đȘŽđ„ł 1st pic is her new digs, 2nd is her original 6â pot. #HappyPlants #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #RepotSeason #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantTherapy #FicusGang #Ficus #FicusFam #babevila

She survived being shipped from California to Nebraska while Nebraska had subzero temps! 3 years later she is thriving! And she was the first plant I added to my Greg oasis! #plantsofthe40thstreetbungalow #shesasurviorandthriver #myfirstGregplant

Iâve been waiting on pins and needles to share this with everyone! I recently was fortunate enough to get a voucher for a discount on this beautiful #ficusburgundy through an app that counts your steps and gives you points for them, and they also plant a tree for every so many steps and remove plastic from the ocean! Itâs a cool app. Anyway, I got the voucher, ordered this plant, and it came last week, but I waited to pot it until tonight because it had come through the mail and was my first #PlantMail, and I figured with all the stress of being shipped, it probably needed a little rest before moving into its permanent digs. I didnât want to show it off until the *full package* was ready! She had to be picture perfect! đ Anyway, here is Drusilla, she is my new Ficus Burgundy, and she is HUGE. Easily 24â tall and just breathtaking! Her name will ring bells work my fellow BTVS fans â„ïž She also has the most beautiful bright new leaf! đ My collection has really been growing by leaps and bounds lately and I love every second! đȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽđȘŽ #PlantAddict #PLANTMAFIA #PlantTherapy #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #Ficus #FicusGang #FicusFam #crazyplantlady #PlantsSavedMyMentalHealth #babevila

Droopy leaves? I have had Xena for a couple of weeks now. Her top leaves are nice and perky but her lower leaves are rather droopy, even after watering. Is this normal? She looks otherwise quite healthy. I purchased her from a local nursery where I have bought quite a few other plants and never had issues. She is directly in front of an east facing window. I have been watering her about once per week, but her soil does seem to dry extremely fast (within just a day or two) so Iâve considered replacing her soil with something that wont dry out quite so quickly. Any advice is appreciated! #Ficus #ficusburgundy

@RJG Oh great ficus master, please advise me on my little baby Luffy! Pic 1 was when I adopted him, 16th December. He grew a lot over the summer and Iâve been expecting him to get his groove on again seeing as spring has sprung. Instead he seems a little limp on one side. I havenât noticed any new leaf growth at all. Pic 2) is his current location pic 3/4) to show him clearer with limp leaves, pic 5) his roots. Iâm wondering if a good soaking will get him going? Or should I wait for a sunny day and place him outside in the shade? Or should I just wait a bit and stop being so impatient đ Still donât know why heâs not perky though. Thanks oh wise one! #ficusking #help #FicusGang #AskGreg

This little rubber plant was shipped to me during some unexpected below freezing temps this past winter! I thought she was a goner but I did
The best I could and gave her chance. She has survived and thrived and has tripled in size since she arrived!
I am obsessed with rubber plants and would highly recommend a burgundy rubber tree to anyone who wants a lovely, hearty little plant!
