Sick? Dying? Repot needed?
So I have this succulent and on one side of it all of the bottom leaves are shriveling, however they seem perfectly fine on the other side. Any suggestions? #Succulents #idontknowwhattodo #PlantAddict #
3β pot without drainage
Last watered 7 months ago
@Succulentlover1 Hannahβ¦β¦ this succulent is not dead, sheβs just sending you mixed signals from a glass prison. So hereβs what Iβm seeing On one side plump, thriving, giving Iβm booked and unbotheredβ¦On the other side shriveled, dramatic, and acting like she just got ghosted after brunch. That half-and-half energy? Classic case of uneven watering meets no drainage drama. Yep this queen is in a glass pot with no escape route for water. Thatβs like putting her in a cute outfit with no bathroom access. Stylish? Yes. Sustainable? Absolutely not. Letβs break it down Hannah 1. Bottom leaves shriveling? Thatβs her Marie Kondo-ing what no longer sparks joy. Normal-ishβ¦ unless itβs only one side which yours is. That tells me sheβs holding moisture unevenly, and the roots on the drama side might be either drying out too fast or sitting in a soggy mess and quietly rotting like leftover lettuce. 2. Glass pot = red flag. No drainage means if you watered just a little too generously, sheβs stewing in her own feelings and fungus. That ainβt self-care, thatβs sabotage. 3. Lighting check are you rotating her? Because one side is clearly on vacation while the other is paying bills. Give her a spin once a week so she doesnβt grow lopsided like a plant trying to escape a toxic relationship. Hereβs what to do Gently unpot her. Check the roots. Healthy = firm and white. Mushy, brown, or smelling like regret = snip snip.
Let her dry out completely. Give her 24β48 hours of alone time. Repot in a container with drainage + cactus/succulent soil (chunky and fast-draining like gossip on a group chat). Bright indirect sun with occasional spins like sheβs on her debut tour. Trust me, once you ditch the no-drainage situation, sheβll bounce back and forget this whole mess ever happened. You got this

@JungleDreamer gave great extensive advice.
Iβd concur this plant needs to be in a pot with a drainage hole as well as good draining soil, like succulent or cactus soil. Terracotta pots are a succulentβs favorite. Glass is super cute, but not suitable for succulents as it is an insulator when they need to breathe easily.
