Meadows (Silver Falls Dichondra) also got a new home

Have y'all heard of "Smart Pot"?

I never had

I went to a place named Urban roots Garden Supply in Tampa and was introduced to them

You can use them as is, in a pot or in ground

They really can be used alone since they stand up without any issues

They come in different sizes, with the smallest being 1 gallon

Well I decided to try them out

As y'all know it's so difficult finding hanging planters (if y'all have a website you order yours from, pls let me know) so I bought a wire basket from the dollar store, placed the smart pot in it, folded the top around the basket, filled it and attached the basket chains that I had purchased at the dollar store as well

I have to say I was not aware how this plant just comes apart.

I kept the "ball"/soil untouched as much as possible. Whatever came loose I just placed those strings around the basket, and topped it off with soil.

Hopefully she makes it

Soldering iron! I make my own pots and hanging pots now by making drainage holes in anything plastic, especially at the dollar tree for $1.25! Candy dishes, serving bowls, plastic containers, cylinders, bowls, buckets, and my fav, cups!
@AwesomePlants ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I must try that

Thank you
@AwesomePlants have you tried drilling on those concrete planters?

I have one that needs drainage but don't know how to proceed
@LaBori276 No, I only use plastic for pots and then if I want, I slip it in a cache pot.

I like the use of cache pots so you can switch around ceramic/concrete pots for different plants and not gave to worry about if they have adequate drainage since the plastic pot inside has drainage.

For concrete, you'd need a drill.
@AwesomePlants I will look into that
