Critical challenge

This plant was not watered for months (it was my previous housemate's) and now I'm trying the impossible.
After repotting it and giving it water it started to lose the few leaves it had but now it seems stabilized and it's growing new little leaves at the bottom.
I'm not even sure about the species, my best guess was Jade plant, any better idea?
Any particular suggestions for the critical situation?
