What’s up with this leaf?

#Ficus Hi folks,
I am a newbie so need some advice:
What could be the reason of the leaf having such cuts? Is there any hope for this leaf?

Ahhhh was it on a lower shelf? I know a lot of garden stores allow dogs with their owners and some dogs like to test bite. My friends pupper did this with a ficus tinake and it scarred into this shape

@GnarlyJacaranda I got it from Home Depot (don’t know if they allow any pets) sitting on the mid shelf (hip height), but it could be that they move the plants as they had some sitting on the floor. Thanks again.
