How often should I repot my catci, they are in the same pot because the store put them together like that, should i separate them or keep them together, should I repot them now, or later! Thank you everyone, im not really great at keeping plants alive, so this app will be super helpful hopefully #happyplants#

Hi Stella! So pretty! I have a question- are these planted in only Perlite, or is there soil in there too? I have many cacti, some bought like yours, others singular. I always repot the day I bring home because store bought plants almost never have good quality soil, and are most often in nursery pots (cheap plastic). I always use cactus/succulent soil (Home Depot) and I add lots of Perlite and some Orchid Bark and Coarse Sand (not playground). I always use terracotta or unglazed clay pots, so the soil and roots get good aeration. (Plastic and glazed clay donβt allow for good aeration). Itβs crucial for cacti to be in pots with drainage and good draining soil. Watering should be every 10 days to 2 weeks, depending on your climate/temps - the soil should be dry half way and when you water, water until it flows out the bottom and make sure it drains well. And they need at least 8 hours of full sun a day. As for repotting- if they are in a perlite only βsoilβ, yes Iβd definitely repot with soil mentioned above. I keep my multiple cacti in same pot until they get too big to be with multiples. I just repotted a few of mine as they outgrew their pots. If/when you repot, only go up 1-2 inches in size from the pot they are in now, any bigger and you risk overwatering and root rot. I hope this helps π these are some of my cacti
This is one of the best answers I have read to date. In fact, I am going to do a screen shot of it as I am still learning and this answer has definately helped me. So, thank you very much Catherine is it? OR #SillyPlantGirl π

Thank you everyone, they do have soil but mainly glued in perlite, i got the 2 just 2 days ago and moved the to my bedroom windows so they didn't have to fight lilah my peace lily and Winnie my spider plant. They only have a perlite top, the rest is soil, I was able to disloge enough rocks to see that
@Luckeecharm1 thank you Tina I appreciate that a lot. Yes, my name is Catherine- @sillyplantgirl is my Greg identity I guess youβd say. Iβm so glad my answer could help you as well. πͺ΄ππ
@YardAlula75 ugh I hate when stores do that! I know it looks pretty but now that I know that- your plants would benefit from a repot. I opened your photo up and those are rocks on top. That way you could make sure they are in the correct soil, not to mention they are able to grow. I bought one a year ago and It had glued rocks on top- I almost killed the plant getting it out of that pot. Those rocks are glued right up on those cacti so youβll have to be gentle to not cut the plant or the roots.
