Is it normal for a young starfruit tree to lose leaves an...

I’ll add in a picture but for now my starfruit tree is looking good. It’s happened for a couple of months now and sometimes the leaves will get yellow and fall off. At first it was because I realized I was still watering it too much, which was twice a week at that time, and now i’m down to once a week. That helped for a little while, but the other day I had another branch and some half yellow/half green leaves fall off. I’m wondering if it’s maybe too cold in my room or maybe it’s something with the soil? Or maybe it’s okay since it’s still growing and that’ll be where the stump is later down the road but I have no clue. #starfruit #help

It won't be growing over the winter and could lose leaves, so cutting back on water is good. Lots of sun is good. Do the roots fill up the pot or could it be in a smaller pot? That might also help.
@Tropicalgia They actually outgrew my old pot which was about 5 1/2” deep, so my mom suggested putting it in a larger pot but not watering it a huge amount so the roots have space to grow in. But thank you for commenting on this! I really appreciate it, im the only one in my family that’s started growing any fruit trees so it definitely helps!
