Perfect! I was also reading that using a diluted hydrogen peroxide water mix in the soil helps kill the larva as well? Is this something youโ€™ve tried? The gnats started showing up when I noticed little mushroom like growths popping up.
@TrueBluebroom Yes, hydrogen peroxide mix helps. I use a 24 ounce cup put 1.5 -2 ounces of peroxide in and the rest is water.
Thank you both for the info! Going to try it out tomorrow and hope it helps! โค๏ธ
Iโ€™m sorry to hear about your plant. ๐Ÿ˜ž Youโ€™re getting excellent advice from one of Gregโ€™s expert. One of the causes of gnats and mushrooms is overwatering . I hope your plant will have a speedy recovery.
In my own personal experience Iโ€™ve found cinnamon to be the best help against gnats! Plus it makes your area smell nice too!

Cinnamon is a powerful natural fungicide, which kills off the gnats' primary food source, therefore making the soil inhospitable.
Also try neem oil, cold pressed, with castle soap. Then buy a soil topper to make a protective layer from your soil
You can also change soil. It worked for me in the past. The soil was also a better quality soil which made all the difference.
Stick matches in the soil tip down
