About Yellow Ficus
Did you know that all plants in the Ficus genus produce figs? In fact, the word Ficus quite literally means figs! Even cooler, all figs are pollinated by tiny wasps that use the fruits as a safe place to raise their young. 🐝 Ficus plants also contain latex which emerges as a milky sap when twigs are broken. This latex makes them toxic, so be sure to keep a close eye out if you have children or pets!
Taxonomy

How to fertilize Yellow Ficus
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Yellow Ficus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Why isn't this red I got a Ruby Teneki Ficus last year. It's been in an east facing window all year so it's getting plenty of light. Just curious if anyone knows why it's white where the red should be. It still looks cool just curious as to why it lost its red #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #ficus #ficusgang

Branching out I have this Yellow Gem #Ficus, Lord Kypho, that I’m contemplating trying to make him branch out. I’ve read that you can cut the top cone off, where the next new leaf comes in, and that’ll prompt growth to become new branches. My question is, does it only produce one, or a couple, on average? He also has these nubs just above several of his leaves, would those become new branches? I don’t know what the nubs are. He does have a new leaf I can see coming in, so I’d wait until it pops out and starts to unfurl and grow before chopping the top off. But also this new leaf seems discolored, so would it be better to chop sooner? 🤷♀️ as always, you guys are awesome! Thanks in advance! #HappyPlants #GregGang #FicusGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PLANTMAFIA #yellowgemFicus #VerdantFlora #PlantTherapy

They arrived in perfect condition. My heart just 💕 swelled with joy. I posted his Etsy shop above. The blooming (smells like heaven) #sansevieriablackcoral has sooo many new babies and the pot is about to bust open from the new growth. #happywifehappylife

Life has been a giant fiasco recently, for my kids, myself, and the plants. We moved houses & got grow lights due to no natural light. We watched a dog for a few days and she knocked over shelves of plants, pulled lights off the wall, and even toppled a plant that was hanging on the wall - multiple plants were lost but a few were saved. The new house proved to be an unsafe environment due to other occupants, even though it was my own family. We left abruptly with no real place to go and after a little while my kids and I (and 🪴) have our own, safe, place again. The kids are happy again, which is fantastic. I’m seeing a LOT of new growth on majority of my plants, which makes me happy. I’m especially excited about this new little leaf, though 🤞🏼 im hoping for some color variegation. This guy is a yellow gem ficus that I ended up getting for $1 with a weird cash register fluke. He was absolutely stunning, but ended up losing most of his older leaves and was left with the semi recent growth of solid green ones. I really meant for this to be a 🪴 post, but… seems I needed to get that out. Thanks for listening!

What are these pests and how do I get rid of them? I was watering my plants today and I saw these tiny little guys in one of the last plants I was watering. I know the pictures aren’t the greatest, but the best I could get. They’re white, have little antennae and seemed to stay in the soil. Can anyone tell me what they are and how to get rid of them. And should I treat all the plants? They’ve been in tight quarters for a little too long. But I just got a new place, again, and they’ll have more room to spread out and grow now.

Got the propagated leaf the is still in perlite and moss. Will it turn into a plant or just stay a single leaf? #GregGang #Ficus #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #HappyPlants #PropagationStation
