Wax on top of the branches

I looked at the pic again - it’s also growing out the top of the trunk, so you’re in good shape for new growth.
As the wax occurs where the plant was cut, I’d guess that it was added to help seal the original wound and prevent disease and bugs from entering the plant while it’s healing. Open to a better suggestion, though. It’s an interesting question. Good luck!
@succulenz is correct. Growers put the wax there to protect the fresh cut.

Looks like it already is… new growth comes from the side of the main trunk (just below the wax) and looks great.
