@vvvelo you’ve created a monster!! I found 3 lithops at the garden center the other day and I’ve always told myself if I found one, I would try again. I don’t know how those other 3 succulents got here. Mysterious 🤔

@DreamMachine I just repotted mine! It was a pot of three when I first got them, then two of the three split giving me five. Second pic is the most recent one I have, but I repotted about a month ago because all FIVE are on the verge of splitting and were crammed up again the sides of the pot, so they needed more space 🤓 I don't really have any tips, other than I only water them on average once a month using a squeeze bottle w/ a narrow spout so I can control exactly where water goes. They also spend 8-10 hours under my grow lights (lights have a PPFD of approx 150 at 8" away). Soil is just cactus soil with extra perlite and pumice mixed in. That's basically it! If I could give you any advice, it would be to keep them in a very small pot until they're pressing up against the sides like mine were. Good luck with your new babies!! 🤞💚
Good morning @DreamMachine 🌞 Congratulations on the lithops and assorted succs! So very cute 😊. I’ve only got 5 months experience with mine and I keep them outside thought being they’ll get the light and water they prefer being in a coastal desert climate. They came to live here in December and much to my delight & surprise, bloomed in Jan/Feb 🌼. I have them in an eastern exposure with a bit of west afternoon sun too. And when rain is in the forecast I move them to a protected spot. I’ve got a Bishop’s Cap and a Dioscorea that shouldn’t get much water too so it’s easy to remember to move all the dry climate plants 🪴 🪴 😊

@OpportuneNeem34 if you’re a complete beginner, these are pretty hard plants. They require a TON of light, so if you don’t have good grow lights or live in a desert 🏜️ that might not be the best idea. 🤷♀️ If you need beginner plant recs I can totally help you there?
The biggest issue people have is usually not enough light and too much humidity. They are good plant for south facing windows +/- adding a grow light and make sure lots of good airflow near it!
I recommend watering all year but only when soil is dryer than dry and they are wrinkling. I would treat them similar to cacti, essentially

Here is my little guy Pinky 🧠 I got him a little over a month ago and have done nothing to him. He had just molted (is that the right word? It feels like the right word. Haha) he has had zero water and has just started to wrinkle a bit. That YouTube video I sent you gave me the confidence I needed to believe that I might actually be able to do it!! Speaking of..do you still have that video because I haven't been able to find it again 🤣 I believe that I read that if you have more than 1 it's better to keep them in a separate pot because they all could be at a different stage and they need separate care. 🤷♀️ Is that correct?

Welcome to the obsession! With mine I only bottom water. This way there is no stem rot! It's the only way I know for them to survive! I've have had 2 before, before I learned this... #plantfriendsarethebestfriends

After this weekend I’ll definitely be posting more, but this week, for example, my daughter surprised us with announcing she had a huge project, poster board and all, due the next day, along with a bonus project, also due 🙈
Luckily for her she has two very experienced procrastinating parents 😜 and we turned it into a project making assembly line. Kiddo was writing and drawing, I was back and forth printing out her pieces that she’d already done and any pictures needed, Dad was cutting out and assembling (at her direction) As my spouse said, “now we find out if all our years of training have paid off!” 😂
Anyhoo, I’m off to work for the day, but I will check back in again soon!

A Sunday with my family, and my bigger extended family, with my parents, sisters, and their spouses and kids and we are going to the Leach Botanical Gardens tomorrow morning 🥰 I’ll take lots of pictures. And they’re going to have a Celtic player.
And yes, she picked the topic, as that is my background. Ancestral wise I am about 75% Slavic with mostly Ukrainian and Slovakian. On her map of Ukraine she marked all of the oblasts where my grandparents and other ancestors lived. For her presentation, which is in a week and a half, we have an authentic Ukrainian outfit, with vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt). I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures then too 🥰😘
