It’s Monday at #TheWateringHole and I’m unmotivated… thinking I need a new hashtag like #UnMotivatedMonday or #MopeyMonday 😮‍💨 We’ve got #untidyTuesday so why not!?!🥴Typically I’ve got pics of pretty new things doin’ their thang, but lately not so much 🤷‍♀️ 🤪. I think the recent mealy bug/thrip discovery has left me feeling deflated. It won’t last but it’s a real thing for me, now & then. Figuring others probably feel this way too sometimes. It’s not always ☀️ 🌈 & 💐 people, right? 🤪 So rant over (I’m feeling better already 🫣) and here’s a pic of one of my plants that’s got his #UnMotivatedMonday going on too! Syngoniums were OG plants for me, 💚 them! Then slowly they all turned into long stringy, pathetic vines. I got rid of all but this bitty Panda. We both have #MopeyMonday. I need motivation. She never gets long enough to chop & prop. She did pop a new leaf up at the soil line so I’m hopeful there🤞. Anything going on in your oasis that’s got you feeling frustrated or defeated? Happy Wednesday at #TheWateringHole my lovely plant people 🤍🌿 The last few days have been quite hot, so I am actually so thankful to see that starting tomorrow it looks like we’re due for almost a week of rain 😮‍💨 🙌 I have not done any laundry, or much else around the house because of the heat. 🥵 I have spent some time checking on my cucumeris mites though 🤓 I just love them. It’s supposed to be less than 90°F/32°C today, so today I play catch-up. Luckily for me, my adhd brain takes that as a challenge. 3 days of work in a few hours? Challenge accepted!! For pictures, we’ve got a new tortum leaf, a ridiculously long latifolia vine that I very much need to make a trellis for, some broadmite ICU patients (my poor beauty star 😭 but she’s hanging on! ) and an excellent microscope that attaches to your phone making taking and sharing pictures a piece of cake, and a picture from said microscope. Green circle is my beneficial predatory mite; the N. cucumeris, and red circle is a feeder mite. ⏱️Want to be notified of these posts when they come out? #TheWateringHole Good afternoon and Happy Saturday! It was a hellacious week at work, but today I’ve enjoyed tending plants, bird feeders, birdbath, hummingbird feeder, and a good walk around the neighborhood. When I got back from my walk, I snapped a few pics of our outdoor blooms. The flowering pots were bought last Sunday at Walmart and Home Depot so we can’t take any credit for those. God has provided plenty of water so we haven’t had to bother with that. I had to run out to Walmart from work on Monday to pick up something for a patient. I took a swing through the garden center to see if the pothos I had eyed the previous week was still there. I had been suffering from “will power remorse”. It was still there and still the only one of that particular one they had. Meet Albert, my Albo Pothos. Now, I really have to start excercising some will power!! Hello and calling all #hoyaheads in the US. Just want to let you know about an awesome shop I found on Palmstreet…after I finally figured out how it worked . (It’s generally way too stimulating for me 🤪) Now I just have this shop The Hoya Heaux (🤣🤣🤣) bookmarked, and don’t use anything else. It’s a small family business selling both unrooted and nicely-rooted hoya cuttings and small plants. Everything I’ve got from them has been exceptionally healthy, unique, and packed well, and usually between $1-20 😱 Anyhoo, their next “live” is this Friday 6/26 at 8:30pm CST. #thewateringhole Happy Father's Day to all the Baddie Daddies out there!! Long time no post 🫶 so I thought I'd throw one out there. I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful Sunday 🙏☺️ I love this time of year and although it's hot as Hades in Central Texas 🔥 Everything in the Oasis is green, lush and in full bloom. Here are a few plants that are showing out today. Not sure if they're going to be in correct order 🤷‍♀️ *Prince of Orange (the new leaves are almost neon!) * Aglaonema Chinese Evergreen - has a baby bloom 😍 looks like a tiny Peace Lily flower. * Monstera Deliciosa - I've got HOLES! 🕳️ Or Perforations if you're fancy 🎉 I just noticed the singular "hole" this morning on a different leaf. Lol * Snake Plant - I gave my son last year. I was so worried that something was going to happen to it🫯 but I had no reason!! I almost removed it and put it in a separate pot but then I liked the way it looked there. It’s definitely a work in progress. Happy Thursday #TheWateringHole! ☀️ I’m on summer break and today was all about plants (yippee! 🥳) So I wanted to share some of the fun I’ve had… 🌱 I took four different varieties of Philo Brasils that I had in separate small pots and potted them up in a single pot. They’ve been drying out super fast in their little pots, so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this will make my life easier. I also think they look sweet all together 🥰 🌱 The cuttings I took from my Hawaiian Pothos finally had enough roots, so I added them to a big pot with the mama plant. Again, hoping this will dry out slower than it has been. And I’m loving how big and lush it looks on top of our hutch 🤗 🌱 Last pic is my growing collection of planted cuttings to sell from our craft sale table in July. It’s so fun to see all these babies get settled into their pots 🪴 What’s going on in your oases today? How are you managing all of your summer growth? 🌱☀️ #debbiedo

Hello #thewateringhole friends! I was looking for a little humidity dome for my baby Alocasia Jacklyn today, and realized I could turn an old vase over and stick her under there until she grows a bit more. And as you can see, the bottom half of her semi hydro setup is currently a yogurt container- didn’t want to buy a whole setup when she will soon outgrow it. It made me think of other things I’ve repurposed for plants, such as the beautiful ceramic berry strainer for a little orchid I have, and a couple of thrifted bowls and plates I use as saucers, or to hold plants steady on a wire frame shelf. What things have you repurposed, on purpose or because needs- must? Morning - these two Alocasia plants, one a Dragon Scale, the other a Red Cuprea! I grew them from corms. They are exploding with growth. I never thought I would see this. They both have new leaves coming as well. Sure does make my day. I hope it adds to yours. 😍 #TheWateringHole

I’m sorry to say that I’m in the hospital having dislocated and broken my ankle while getting out of my car at the grocery store. Fortunately there were people ready to help and get me an ambulance and to the hospital. It looks like I’ll not be walking for the next five weeks and I’ll be in a senior living place and switching from there to the hospital. My daughter has come from New York to be with me but none of them are really plant people and Kate can’t be away from work that long. So I’m worried about my succulents. And I may not be able to have my puppies with me. So I’m trying to figure out a plan to get those two problems solved. I wonder if there are plant sitters like dog sitters which I may have found. Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well. This is my blanket plant that I bought at the County master gardeners nursery about three months ago. It has not stopped blooming. A friend of mine also has one and hers has not stopped blooming either. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant bloom this much. Happy Thursday #TheWateringHole! ☀️ I’m on summer break and today was all about plants (yippee! 🥳) So I wanted to share some of the fun I’ve had… 🌱 I took four different varieties of Philo Brasils that I had in separate small pots and potted them up in a single pot. They’ve been drying out super fast in their little pots, so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 this will make my life easier. I also think they look sweet all together 🥰 🌱 The cuttings I took from my Hawaiian Pothos finally had enough roots, so I added them to a big pot with the mama plant. Again, hoping this will dry out slower than it has been. And I’m loving how big and lush it looks on top of our hutch 🤗 🌱 Last pic is my growing collection of planted cuttings to sell from our craft sale table in July. It’s so fun to see all these babies get settled into their pots 🪴 What’s going on in your oases today? How are you managing all of your summer growth? 🌱☀️ #debbiedo

Hello #thewateringhole friends! I was looking for a little humidity dome for my baby Alocasia Jacklyn today, and realized I could turn an old vase over and stick her under there until she grows a bit more. And as you can see, the bottom half of her semi hydro setup is currently a yogurt container- didn’t want to buy a whole setup when she will soon outgrow it. It made me think of other things I’ve repurposed for plants, such as the beautiful ceramic berry strainer for a little orchid I have, and a couple of thrifted bowls and plates I use as saucers, or to hold plants steady on a wire frame shelf. What things have you repurposed, on purpose or because needs- must? Morning - these two Alocasia plants, one a Dragon Scale, the other a Red Cuprea! I grew them from corms. They are exploding with growth. I never thought I would see this. They both have new leaves coming as well. Sure does make my day. I hope it adds to yours. 😍 #TheWateringHole

I’m sorry to say that I’m in the hospital having dislocated and broken my ankle while getting out of my car at the grocery store. Fortunately there were people ready to help and get me an ambulance and to the hospital. It looks like I’ll not be walking for the next five weeks and I’ll be in a senior living place and switching from there to the hospital. My daughter has come from New York to be with me but none of them are really plant people and Kate can’t be away from work that long. So I’m worried about my succulents. And I may not be able to have my puppies with me. So I’m trying to figure out a plan to get those two problems solved. I wonder if there are plant sitters like dog sitters which I may have found. Good evening everyone. I hope you are doing well. This is my blanket plant that I bought at the County master gardeners nursery about three months ago. It has not stopped blooming. A friend of mine also has one and hers has not stopped blooming either. Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a plant bloom this much.
