Orchid rescue mission

My mom bought me this orchid last night, and it was in desperate shape. I cleaned most of the coconut husk crap off the roots and trimmed a couple that were mush. Took some velamin(sp?)off a few others that were looking rough. I now have her sitting in a glass dish with about an inch of water on her roots. She is staked to keep the crown from falling into the water. I know that in order to grow her in water culture, I have to do it slowly. I've already watched a few videos on YouTube about how to do this, but I have a few questions. I know every orchid is different, but about how long does it typically take for one to fully acclimate to water culture? I plan to do the 1 day wet 6 days dry method for now and slowly increase the amount of wet days until she can live in water permanently. Do any of you have experience with this method and could give me some advice? I also already know that throughout this transition period, I will have to continue cleaning the medium from the roots. What else do I need to know? Also, if any of you have experience with miraclegro ready to use orchid fertilizer spray, where am I supposed to spray it on the plant?

Thanks for the help

@MotherOfOrchids do you have any answers? I don’t know anything about growing orchids hydroponically.
