#TheWateringHole Hello All, and Good Afternoon, I have been feeling rather lackadaisical these past few weeks. It seems that my “Get Up And Go”, got up and left? I keep telling myself that I should be doing this, that, and the other but I cannot seem to get anyof it done! Oh well, tomorrow is another day!
I did manage to get the plants watered, those that needed watering. So today there are 20 more asking for attention/water.
And I did find a new bloom on the Rebutia Albipilosa, did you know that cacti need much more water when they are blooming, or to get them to flower. But the line between a bit more water and overwatering is very fine! And the correct balance is crucial. On my walk yesterday I saw these blooming Frangipani, it had just stopped raining and the colors looked so intense I had to take pictures. Of course I couldn’t overlook the BoP. And I don’t know who that little yellow flower belongs to, but it looked so perfect with the water droplets I just had to post it. Please keep in mind that these aren’t mine and they live outside by the parking lot. I have been feeling absolutely the same this week. My energy is just shot. I’ve been managing to water the handful of plants every day that look like they’re pouting, sorry babies! 🥱 I wish I could take naps because today would definitely be the day!

I don’t know if it’s the same where you are, but it is H-O-T here in Colorado! 🥵Plus all of the wildfires in the mountains are making for very smoky air 🤧🔥💨I work the next few days so have been trying to get ahead of some of my plant chores including chopping up a cactus🌵(it bit back 👹), and releasing mites and lacewings 🐞for prevention!
Hah as a counterpoint, I found your “go” today, after an absence! (Thank you!) Those blooms are beautiful!! Makes me want to try a cactus. And the BOP 😍 I had been putting off repotting this snake plant for forever, but the emergence of the twins meant I needed to get them under some good lighting to preserve the “moonlight.” Two babies delivered, to the mouth of Krampus. 👹 Insert Christmas in July or something. This was my first time and damn those roots were not letting go, so hopefully they do well! 🤞 Bonus Maxie with a nice sunset. This heatwave is rough.

@MariansOasis 😂😂 You would have been terrified of every sleigh bell!! I had a Swiss coworker back in the day that introduced me to Krampy; I didn’t know about him before that either. Bet those kids behaved a whole lot better than just being put on the naughty list, though.. The therapy bills later, well… 😂 Did you see the parades in your Googles? They look intense!!! When I took Hector to the Christmas-themed bar here in NYC, I saw the Krampus mug and had to get it. Now, I have to find ways to justify it taking up so much space in the mug cabinet! 🤪 Oh, and there was a cheesy Krampus horror movie made a few years ago, too, if you ever get tired of It’s A Wonderful Life reruns during the season.
