I remember seeing these as a small child growing up in south Florida. Some of these ancient beauties in FL are close to 1,000 years old 😳 They're incredibly important to the ecosystem, providing nesting space in their branches for many native and protected birds, and lots of mammals make homes in their enormous hollow trunks. They're to Florida what the redwoods are to California 🥰
