Here is a pic of the stems on my Illustris. I have some of those light spots too, it just seems like some kind of pigmentation-error. Some of my other Calatheas are lighter or darker on some stems, which is due to different lighting I think.
Hmm… πŸ€” I had to go look at one of mine, and I’m still not sure. LOL

This is one of my smaller ones (the others are upstairs and I’m sooo tiredβ€”not gonna haul myself up there to check them, too). Anyhow, mine doesn’t have the same purple as yours does either, so… Also, disregard the coppery looking granules in the dirt; I sprinkle cinnamon on a lot of my plants to protect against fungus gnats. 😜
This isn’t a rose calathea, it’s a cathedral window, but I’d say it’s closer to what I’m seeing in your pictures, don’t you think?

Regardless, you can always hit it with a quality fungicide if you’re worried about it; it won’t hurt the plant if there isn’t anything going on.
@HisLobster I currently have bio advanced 3 in 1 soap that I spray on all my plants. I hope it’s not root rot! οΏΌ
@HisLobster is the first one a rose ?
@livslillies Yeah, just a really dark one. The second picture (cathedral) shows new growth, though…
@HisLobster okay cool, just wondering our roses look completely different. is mine still a rose calathea with just a different variegation or is it a different plant ?
@livslillies It’s still a rose. I think they get their name from the color on the underside. I could be talking out of my ass on that, though. LOL I just know that a lot of these guys come in variations in color. If it’s not a rose, I’d say it’s a maranta, but it looks like a rose to me. Especially with that whitish outline in the middle-ish of the leaves…
Hi @livslillies! I think your plant looks fine, at least for the stems☺️ A little dry edges which are pretty normal for Calatheas (new name Goeppertia).

To clarify the "Rose" Calathea is a collective term for all the Calatheas in the Roseopicta group! I'm attaching a pic of the Calatheas in that group.

Although I do believe you have the Calathea Jungle cat, which is a hybrid. I do not think it is a part of the Roseopicta-groupπŸ€” (but it is very similar to the Illustris, but the Illustris have more pink on dark leaves). Adding a pic of the hybrids too.
@MockingJay that is so neat !! it’s crazy though the β€œillustris” and the β€œjungle cat” look very similar i wonder if the bottoms of the leaves are the difference between them ? mine have lots of pink underneath!
@livslillies I have the Illustris myself so that is why I can tell it is different from yoursπŸ˜„ They both have the same purple underside. But the "stripes" on yours are still white also on the leaves with less pattern. On my Illustris the stripes gets hint of pink and might even resemble the Dottie on juvenile leaves and on leaves that have received little light and have less pattern.
Here is my Illustris ☺️
@MockingJay so good to know !!
