Hi!
Does anyone know what is wrong with that stem? Why is it turning black?

@KookyKaraka are you referring to the top of the plant where the new leaves are?
@TheOddAsity yes
@KookyKaraka first off, is it squishy or rotting? It doesnโt look like it as it wouldnโt be growing new leaves if it were. A lot of Hoyas get darker when a new growth starts. My Krimson Princess and Queen do it. My hueschelianaโฆ itโs sun stresses under a grow light. Is there a chance your stem is sunstressed?
@TheOddAsity at the beginning of growing new leaves it was okay. But a week ago it started getting darker. It is not squishy, it is like an ordinary stem.
Regarding sunstress, do not think so. There is no strong sun here in winter

@TheConservator thanks! Hope everything will be ok with a plant
I think I am not going to cut if off now, want to see what will be going on

@TheConservator in case of cutting it, will the new growth come from the same place? Or it will grow a new stem?
@TheConservator thank you! I hope so! Because I am new in hoyas and this was the first hoya to givenew leaves ๐ญ
@TheConservator i will wait for them:)
You can see in the different photos how theyll grow after the top growth point has been damaged . That first pic i let it get to dry and the growth point died off. Had to cut it off. You can see it sprouted new growth on the side of the cut off . Second shows how one i cut off from same thing grew from the base, but it will start new growth on the other part eventually!
@TheConservator thank you!!
Really just basic pruning. Just on a starter plant
