(Our work “AC” is more like a suggestion @princesspitstop 😉 ) plus I might be serving outside. 🫣

Good morning @DreamMachine and #TheWateringHole gang ☀️ and greetings from Paso Robles. On day 5 of a horse show. I can sympathize regarding heat with you Nadia as it’s been in the 90’s here all week plus 🌬️ windy!! 🥵 💨!! Heading home 🏡 tomorrow where a couple dozen plants will be awaiting their 💦 and attention 👀 🪴. Snapped a pic of my Copper Queen before I left 📸. I love how her flowers change color during the duration of the bloom. ❤️🧡💛 Pic 1 is now, pic 2 was on May 24th.

#TheWateringHole @DreamMachine Good Sunday Morning, everyone! 🌞😎 A windy 🌬️ and later on rainy ☔️ day here in New Mexico! I have been ordering up plants a lot, before the heat 🥵 sets in come next month! My favorite Plant Nursery is Gabriella Plants, which they resides in Florida. So here are a few of my beautiful plants from them. My Pencil ✏️ Stick Cactus, Red Bamboo Plant, with undertones of red on its 🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃, and also my Ginny Peperomia!! Everyone have a relaxing Sunday on purpose with purpose! 😉
@DreamMachine @MariansOasis I definitely know about the heat, living in New Mexico! It’s a dry heat, totally different from New York City’s heat 🥵! Beautiful Plant Oasis from the both of you, Ladies! The bright vibrant colors, plus the care put into them, definitely shows it from you both!! 😍🙌🤩

The hubby and I are focused on BERRIES today as we plant up our strawberry tower, reinforce our raspberry supports, and get both of these hooked up to the sprinkler system to be ready for the heat that’s surely on its way ☀️

Hey everyone. Apparently I'm the heatwave outlier over here. What a few thousand miles can do... it's been raining cats and dogs for several days in a row. I kind of love it, because it Viola everything down, the soil needs it desperately, and didn't have any important appointments outside anyway rn. And next week it's our turn for another heatwave anyway. Love the abundance of prey plants (mainly, of course the orchids and hoyas, you know me, I'm biased).
I myself treated myself by moving the bella to a very decorative spot in the living room - just so I can see it more while it's this gorgeous. It's a bit too dark for it there to stay there for longer, but somehow it seems so much like the perfect spot that I'm considering adding another light just so that it can stay there. I hope you all manage to stay cool, have a great Sunday. 🫶

@DreamMachine oh girl, I feel for ya! I've become less and less tolerant of heat in recent years (thanks perimenopause!). Thinking back to some of my hottest serving jobs, the worst had to be when I served in the dining room of an 80 year old lodge wearing a FULL tuxedo in the dead of summer 😱🥵 Because who doesn't want their server schvitzing all over them while they eat? 😜
By the way, your philo Brasil is lovely, but it's the Nanouk & zebrina in the background that really caught my eye 👀 Nanouks are usually super susceptible to brown spots, but yours looks 🔥🤌 Do you bottom water? Soon as I started bottom watering mine, no more brown spots 😅

Looks like we traded weather! We woke up to 49° and overcast today. I hope you survived! Not much going on here except for selling a couple of spider plants on FB and continuing to worry about the hoyas! 😖😂 My neighbor took this picture of compass and Bella and just sent it to me. I thought it was exquisite!

He does have some brown spots, but for the most part they are from before I started bottom watering!

Hello everyone at #TheWateringHole ! Summer has come to Georgia. It has been hot and humid as it usually is in Summer, south of Atlanta. My hubby decided he wanted to go get flowers for the yard this afternoon. We survived the sweat down at the garden centers at our local Walmart and Home Depot. I could write a whole other post about the differences in the care and condition of plants between the different locations of these stores! I prefer the ones in the town where I work. I cleaned up a bird bath yesterday, did a bunch of watering yesterday and today, and repotted my Fairy Washboard Haworthia. Here are some daylily blooms from yesterday and our peace lily bloom on the one received after my dad died in 2013. Today is the 13th anniversary of his death. I’ve been for a walk and now have laundry going. It’s back to work tomorrow.

It’s so draining when it’s both 🥵 and heavy air with humidity 😑. I hope you can keep cool in some a/c. It seems the hot weather has set in at a lot of places 😮💨

I was surprised how fast my Nanouk grew! How much light does yours get? Mine was a rehab plant so looked pretty gnarly when I first got it. I moved it to a long rectangular pot to give it more soil surface (since trads grow sprawling out across the ground, constantly putting down new roots). It also improved airflow since it could spread out more. Initially I had it under grow lights with all my zebrinas but it was a bit too much, now it happily resides on a northeast-facing windowsill.
Yep, the one with the elegant colors is the T. mundula Lisa! And the green one is the Callisia gentlei var. elegans. It's not as fast growing as some other members of the Commelinaceae family, but I'm obsessed with how its leaves feel. They're like an extremely fine-nap suede, that's the closest thing I can compare them to. I have to stop myself from constantly rubbing them, it's very satisfying in an ASMR-type way 😛 Since you're wanting a green variety, there's a member of the same species as Nanouk called Red Hill. Same thick, succulent-like leaves. They're slightly fuzzy, green on top w/ purple undersides. I also have several green & white varieties that put the common "Pistachio" cultivar to shame. One of my favorites is T. fluminensis 'Variegata' (2nd pic), it's one of my fastest growing trads. I'd be happy to send you cuttings of those or any other trads you might want! 🤗

@DreamMachine hey Nadia. I just bought it from Etsy. It’s also called a sun rose. It’s a succulent. The leaves are sort of like a Kalanchoe. Here is a photo of the shop ad and the second photo is the plant sent.

@DreamMachine Thanks for the additional pics! Based on the stress coloring, I'm almost 95% sure it's 'Evanesce'. Are the stems noticeably thicker than your Burgundy? And do both the stems and leaves have scattered hairs? That'll confirm the other 5% lol 😜
