About Variegated Alocasia frydek
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Variegated Alocasia frydek after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Just wanted to share my very pretty Frydek. I wish it would have a bit less variegation but it is still doing great 🥰 #AlocasiaAddicts #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #variegatedplants

I’m not sure if this is healthy She’s growing new leaves that are nicely variegated but the old ones always flop

This guy just keeps throwing me curveballs! Got 2 absolutely beautiful, new variegated leaves on the main stalk, and the little stalk finally has a new leaf, buuut, I think it’s gonna be all white, it’s so light colored! He was the only frydek that didn’t have any all white leaves when I got him, I did that for a reason as I know the all white leaves don’t photosynthesize and are energy sinks for the plant despite how pretty they are. #AlocasiaAddicts #AlocasiaFrydek

I thought Freida had a pretty good life going for her, then she had to throw an all white leaf… 😮💨😂 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #AlocasiaAddicts #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #TheThread #GregGang #PlantTherapy

Sad plant need help!!!! I need all the advice you can give me!!!

This is beatiful, wonderful leaf, I'm so proud of this little baby i separated from the main clump during repot. The bigger ones tho in the main pot. One died off (went dormant?) because it's been only putting out white leaves. The biggest is still not looking too great, it doesn't look like it's getting ready to make a leaf any time soon, maybe it will prove me wrong and push one out, and it better have at least 30% green on it. I so want to cut off the leaves off of the bigger one, im so serious rn. #alocasiafrydekvariegata is a torture device you can't convince me otherwise

I finally got my dream plant!! 🥳 She is so beautiful! Feel free to share any tips
