Dracaena tree! My husband gave this to me last year for Mothers Day. It was in a planter with 2 other plants. It was maybe 6 inches tall… now- 1 year later (and a couple of up pots!) it is now 5 feet tall. 😳 #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #NewGrowth #Dracaena #DragonTree #GregGang

Went exploring in the FL Panhandle to see #carnivorousplants ! These sites were by far the largest that I have ever been to. The #sarracenia #pitcherplants) sprawled as far as I could see at one of the sites in the Apalachicola National Forest! I primarily saw Sarracenia flava, or the yellow pitcher plant. More specifically lotsa Sarracenia flava var. rugelii & Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora! I was absolutely delighted to have seen rubricorpora in the wild for the first time; the red of rubricorpora is just absolutely stunning. At one of the sites in Blackwater River State Forest I also saw Sarracenia leucophylla, or the white-topped pitcher plant, growing amongst the flava! And, of course, a whole lot of Sarracenia psittacina, or the parrot pitcher plant, growing underneath the tall sarrs! They can be very tricky to avoid stepping on because they grow in such numbers! One of the highlights for me, though, was finding Pinguicula planifolia! I cannot remember the common name of it right now, but its one of Florida's native butterworts .. And my personal favorite! Happy Monday! I took a cutting from my mom’s prayer plant that was dead. Basically the only cutting with some life left. I stuck her in some water…. Destiny had a much needed tending too today. She was moved into a bigger pot and I was able to get 5 more plants off of her and able to keep much of her original self together. Also have a few props started to give away from her also. #TheWateringHole Happy 😃 Sunday to all my #TheWateringHole friends! Hope you’re having a relaxing day enjoying your plants 🌱. I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s new purchases and plant successes. For those of us on the no plant 🪴 purchasing plan, it’s all about celebrating the wins at home and avoiding the garden centers. Work is the main reason I’ve avoided plant purchases recently. Too tired and no time to shop! For my successes: 1. my purple haze aloe is sporting a bloom stalk 2. My rose quartz cactus 🌵, which I have been struggling to re-root, looks like it is producing my 1st ever cactus bloom! 3. My Bantel’s sensation snake 🐍 plant is finally rewarding me with some new leaves. 4. New pothos leaves unfurling! What are you celebrating 🙌 at your oasis today? So I have a beautiful zebrina alocasia in my kitchen, and she’s gone absolutely wild this summer. The smallest leaf is the oldest leaf, and the largest is the youngest. You can see her growth difference. I LOVE monosilicic acid; it works beautifully for alocasias. This particular one, I’ve grown from a corm and is a few years old now. #TheWateringHole Happy Monday to everyone at the #TheWateringHole! Hope everyone had a nice weekend with their plant oasis! We’re getting a lot of rain here, which we desperately needed. I managed to avoid having to water the outdoor flowers. Speaking of outdoor flowers, I snapped a few pics of our hosta blooms and one of our outdoor planters yesterday afternoon, but never got around to posting. The last picture is my new baby pitcher plant my stepdaughter had shipped to me. She let my hubby know she was sending a plant, but didn’t let me know what it was, so it was a #PlantMail surprise! Now I just have to study up on how to keep it alive. It’s sitting out on my front porch for now. Any tips appreciated! What’s happening at your oasis? Any new blooms, leaves, plants, pets? Nap Time! 😂😂 well I finally repotted my Boston Fern. This old girl needs a good, long- nap! It took me almost 2 hours of struggling, cussing, kicking and -well more cussing…in this 98 degree heat…to get this beast out of the pot. 🫣 it is 38 inches tall and 43 inches wide…and weighed a ton. Pretty sure I pulled out 25 leaves, if not more. Roots were wrapped around top and bottom on of the planter. What- the middle section stank??!?? Cantaloupe for Days!! I started these as seeds in May. By the end of May they had to be put in the ground. Hubby built me 2 “Teepees” for all the plants to grow up on, rather than take over the yard lol. Now- I have 28 Melons!!
