@Popcornjoness I love this! I feel like this ‘rule’ might come around because people don’t acclimate their plants to bright light properly and burn their plants. 😭 But all my monsteras can’t get enough light! ☀️☀️☀️
A “rule” that I break is that I repot immediately upon getting a new plant. They are almost always in the wrong soil, which also may have fungus gnat larvae, and they almost always have some kind of rot going on (especially if they were shipped) either too dry or too wet. I can treat them and get them in good soil asap, and then I leave them be for a bit.

That user has made a number of rude and inappropriate comments over the past several months, completely living up to their user name . Bummer for them that they totally don’t get the Greg community vibe 😔 Maybe we should report any in the future?
@Stephazar also, same Steph! 😊 A handful of my calatheas enjoy their morning sun ☀️🥰 (only my marantas and my roseopicta actually seem to prefer their spot UNDER my plant table in the window 😅 And I think monstera’s actually need way more sun than people think. I mean, they CLIMB TREES to find sunshine! 😜 Or at least monsteras that live with me where I am 45° North of the equator 😅

@DreamMachine yea, some people are just on the internet to spread negativity. They’re outta here! Wait the monsteras grow outside where you are? If only! My house and yard would be covered in Deliciosa and Alocasia 😩😩😩 how does it feel to live my dream??
@Stephazar I would recommend going the node to plant route for the variegated monsteras. It’s much more cost efficient for sure 👍🏾

I meant; with the strength of sunshine I get (I live in the Pacific Northwest) my monsteras are butted up right next to my south facing window and get as much ‘sunshine’ as is possible here, indoors 😅 Yeah, if I lived somewhere warmer the outside of my house would literally BE a jungle on the outside too 😁😁
