Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great day and you and your plants are growing. I visited the county master gardeners’s nursery this morning. I bought another giant plum ginger and a passion vine. I am going to start building a couple of these tables for my plants. I thought I would share it here. Here’s what they use in their nursery, two by fours and hardware cloth which is quarter inch chicken wire supported by cinder blocks. The dimensions are 8 foot long by 22 inches wide . It came!!!! Plant Mail 🪴 #happyplants #hoyahangout #hoya My hoya freckles. So pretty 😍. I got the little USB humidifier at the thrift store today for $3. I always see them on Amazon. Was wondering how well they work. Went to Walmart this morning. They have some pots on sale. Snagged that 6 in for $5. Good Evening, I love coming home to things like this- so I thought I’d share. Major progress on the Mint monstera. I’m 2 treatments into the Captain Jacks copper fungicide treatment and it seems to be working great. I was very unimpressed with the state of the this plant , but now I am happy. I think there’s a teeny fenestration that I see ?!😲. Anyways, I hope you had a great day! It’s Monday, almost time for dog walk🐕🐾 & dinner 🍽️ here! Just wanted to share a new flower spike on my anthurium bakeri. It will turn bright red and then form fat seeds all along the top of the spike🌱. Last pic is the post-sulfur treatment of the batch of FB Marketplace Hoyas I got from a local gal. The day I brought them home 🏡 I showered 🚿 them & sprayed with insecticidal soap. Never did I consider flat mites. I’ve got many Hoyas and never battled flat mites. Guess if you collect them long enough it’s bound to happen. I’m definitely looking into beneficials with help from our resident beneficial bug expert Nadia @DreamMachine 🏆🙌 for post sulfur maintenance 👩‍🔧. How was your Monday? It’s probably a short work week for many with 4th of July this weekend 🇺🇸🎆🧨🎇🇺🇸. Good Evening to ALL who may come across this post 😊 I have something I NEED to share with you guys 🤯 So on Tuesday, I went out on the front porch to water some plants 🪴 (I don’t go out there often because of the wasp and the heat this time of year) As I’m watering my smaller Bird of Paradise, I notice it’s REALLY leaning towards the stairs which makes it in the way when walking up or down. Therefore I thought why don’t I switch it with my banana tree so it’ll lean more towards the center. I lean over to pick it up and I’m trying to figure out WHY it won’t come out of the concrete pot?! 🤔 Usually the plants come right out, but not this time. So I’m pulling, I’m tugging, I’m wiggling, I’m leaning it every which way and NOTHING! Well FINALLY it lets loose!!! Believe it or NOT, the BOP roots had grown out of the drainage holes in the clay pot and into the cement pot 😳🤯😳 I cannot believe how big, thick, and healthy those roots are! It just blows my mind. I never would have thought that would happen. I mean I could have planted the BOP directly into the cement planter, but that thing is extremely HEAVY. So to make it easier, I just put the clay pot inside the cement pot! Now I have to do a repot 🤯🤯 And last year, I had a bunch of broken stems from my Easter and Thanksgiving Cactus. So I planted all of them in a little throw away container with some peat moss. Now the Thanksgiving Cactus wants to bloom?!? WHAT?? I’m sooo confused, yet sooo excited 😜 Last, but not least is my Lifesaver Cactus. So some jealous Karen neighbors out where I stay out called the fire marshal and complained about my plants on the balcony I now I have to bring in all my plants. They can't be outside. The fire marshal said it was a fire hazard and somebody might trip. 🤦‍♀️. My plants have been sitting on that balcony in the summer for 2 years. Never any complaints. I had to bring in 30 plants. So of course I had to order another grow light 🙄. Not too sure about the placement. I feel like just the front ones are getting light.
