How to fertilize Angel Wings Cactus

Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Angel Wings Cactus after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

This is probably a stupid question but... Does "var." in the plant name mean that it's variegated? I've noticed lighter/almost yellow spots on my "opuntia microdasys var. albispina" and I'm wondering if I should be concerned or if they are supposed to be there? @EAS (These pics are from November so not very recent, and it's dark rn so I can't get better ones...) Also need some direction on when to water... Had to bring it inside due to some critter outside repeatedly pulling it out of its pot... I don't see any wrinkling and was planning to wait about a month but wasn't sure if that was too long or if maybe I should wait even longer? Atm it's getting pretty limited/almost no sun because it's in quarantine and after moving so many plants inside I've run out of room but will move it into the plant room ASAP. The amount of glochids it has makes it pretty much impossible for me to see if there's any pests, etc but there does appear to be some "scabbing" in a few places... Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance y'all! #cactusclique #opuntia #opuntiamicrodasys #eastaustinsucculents #cactus #socalgreg #socalcacti #WickedValkyrie

Difference between Cinnamon Cactus and Bunny Ears? Just curious, because I bought this one thinking she was a bunny ears cactus, then I read the label and realized she was a cinnamon cactus. Is there a difference? #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #newgrowth #succulentlove #succulentsquad #cactusclique #cactus

🐶 🐈 👶 Toxicity
Greg does not have confirmed data on this plant’s toxicity. If you, a family member, or a pet consumes plant material of unknown toxicity, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.

💨 Humidity
Angel Wings Cactus prefers dry environments. Providing extra humidity or misting your plant allows water to linger on leaves, which can create the perfect environment for harmful types of fungi.
🪴 Soil
Angel Wings Cactus is very sensitive to wet soil, so choose a potting soil that drains very well and doesn’t retain too much moisture. A good soil will have lots of perlite or vermiculite for drainage and some organic matter for nutrition. A few handfuls of perlite added to regular store-bought cactus soil will do the trick!
💩 Fertilizer
Angel Wings Cactus grows very slowly and doesn’t require added fertilizer. Replacing your plant’s potting soil once a year should provide them with more than enough nutrition. Remember, plants get their energy from sunlight, not fertilizer!
❄️ Dormancy
It’s common for Angel Wings Cactus to go dormant in the wintertime and you may notice their growth slow down. Waterings should be spaced out more during this time.
🌎 Native Region
Angel Wings Cactus is native to the Americas.
🧐 Troubleshooting
When troubleshooting a sad-looking houseplant, start by checking for signs of distress in its leaves, such as yellowing, browning, or drooping, which can indicate overwatering or nutrient deficiencies.
Inspect the soil moisture; too dry or too wet soil can cause problems.
Ensure the plant is getting the right amount of light, as too much or too little can stress it.
Finally, consider environmental factors like temperature and humidity, and adjust care routines accordingly to revive your plant.
